The Zak Zone

Sports fans, you may have noticed that Thursday's edition of Spirit Sports was lacking the weekly column, The Zak Zone. That's because I was trying to fabricate the best manner to say, "So long," to pages 6&7 as I prepared for a journey toward the rest of the pages in The Spirit.

As of, well, today, as you're reading this, I'm now officially the editor of the paper, and while you'll still be able to read my musings — at times sports related and at other times completely unrelated — on Viewpoints on Page 4 on Mondays, I'm a bit saddened that The Zak Zone is being put to rest.

10- & 11-YEAR-OLD SB'S RUN AT STATES STARTS TODAY

Chelsea Snyder blasts off to first after recording an RBI-single in Punxsy's 9-7 win over Corry on July 20 for the Section 1 10- and 11-year-old softball title. Today, Punxsy faces Friday's winner between Jersey Shore and Mifflin Co. in the second round of the state tournament.
