Jefferson on short end of back-and-forth affair

June 15, 2012

PUNXSUTAWNEY — In a game that saw a pair of ties and three different lead changes, Jefferson Grocery came out on the short end of the stick against GKN of Fox Township 11-8 Friday evening in Punxsutawney.

It was GKN which jumped out to an early lead before Jefferson even had a chance to pull out its bats with a two-spot in the top of the first.

Hunter Fantechi started things with a one-out single in front of the left fielder, and he came all the way around to score on a two-out double that short hopped the fence in right.
