ROSSITER — The Rossiter Miners scored two runs in the fifth inning that put them just over the edge of the previously undefeated Brookville Grays Thursday night in Rossiter.
"Anytime you beat a team like Brookville, you can be happy," Miners manager Jim Dunlap said. "That makes me feel great. ... (The rivalry) means a lot."
The Miners were leading 2-1 heading into the fifth inning, but they were put over the edge by a triple to deep center by Braedon Pennington that plated Pete Meterko.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — When a team consists of many younger players, it will often go through some growing pains. The hope is that one day the experience level will pay off and be a benefit to the players down the road.
After picking up its first win of the season, Fezell Enterprises Youth Legion team — which consists mostly of players on the younger end of the age spectrum for Youth Legion — fell to 1-4 on the season with a tough 22-8 loss to Walbeck in the Indiana County League.
