Punxsy's own Mark Aaron earns boxing win

PITTSBURGH — On a recent Saturday October night, Punxsy native Mark Aaron scored a unanimous decision win over Damon Palmer of Eastside PAL, in the 178-pound novice division at the Edgewood Club in Pittsburgh.

Aaron was able to use his superior reach and height along with having a strong jab to set up good combinations and outscore his opponent.

He trains a Helman's PAL in Punxy and is scheduled for action again in mid-November in Tarentum.

Also preparing for first bouts are local heavyweight Marcus Williams and lightweights Colton Sheilds and Parker Vernot.

Football team, cheerleaders hold annual banquet

The Punxsy Chucks football team held its annual banquet on Tuesday night at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
