PUNXSUTAWNEY â In what could be described as a see saw battle all night between two of the areaâs best, Punxsy was able to record the last strike on a Trevor Peace boot 1:42 into overtime for the 5-4 boysâ soccer win over Brockway.
âIt was great game of hustle, effort and guts,â said Chucks coach Phil Shenkle right afterwards. âThis was a game of playoff training, as you have to have these types of games going into the playoffs.â
Peace produced a âhat trickâ trick to highlight the Chucks (9-3) offense. Tanner Evans added a goal and assisted on Kevin Hughesâ header off a corner kick.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â In a breakout effort, Lady Chucks' midfielder Emily Horner connected for a 'hat trick' and an assist to help send the hometown seniors away winners, 4-3, over the Lady Rovers of Brockway on Tuesday night in Punxsutawney.
"This was Emily Horner's breakout game," explained Punxsy coach Kevin Hughes. "The movement and effort she had was great. She worked hard for every single one of those goals."
And Punxsy would need every single one of those goals to defeat Brockway.
