PUNXSUTAWNEY — With five of the six top boys' basketball teams in District-IX league play within one game of first place entering Friday night, the Chucks knew they'd have their work cut out for them when they hosted DuBois. The Chucks proved to be up to the challenge with a 65-45 win.
BROOKVILLE — With only two turnovers in the first half, the Brookville Raiders (12-3) did not struggle against St. Marys (7-8) Friday night and earned a league victory, 43-32.
"I think we're getting a little better (with turnovers)," Brookville head coach Bud Baughman said. "We had some really tough games against some quality opponents, and I think it's helped us. That's really the only way you get better is to play the better teams."
The Raiders' most impressive quality Friday night was their defensive abilities.
