MESORACO WATCH

August 13, 2011

Baseball is a game of slumps and streaks, and unfortunately for hometown catcher and Cincinnati Reds prospect Devin Mesoraco, the past week has been of the slump variety.

Mesoraco played in six games this week and managed just two hits in 19 at-bats.

Both the hits were home runs, though, including one against the Pittsburgh Pirates AAA-affiliate Indianapolis Indians Friday. The other came in Wednesday's game against the Toledo Mudhens.

But even with his instant offense, Mesoraco's Bats fell short in both games.
