ST. MARYS — With St. Marys one out from a victory, Punxsy's Alyssa Reitz belted a two-out RBI double to drive in Ivy Phillips and tie the score at three in a game that Punxsy would go on to win 7-3 in eight innings in Junior League softball All-Star action Monday night in St. Marys.
Punxsy advanced to a rematch with DuBois in the bracket final for the District 10 championship with the win. Punxsy will need to win two games, as it is coming out of the losers' bracket.
DUBOIS — Punxsy's Post 62 Senior Legion baseball team's season came to a disappointing end with a 6-4 loss against DuBois in the winner-take-all championship game Tuesday night at Showers Field in DuBois.
Punxsy manager Doug Mesoraco was proud of his players and the way they battled, though, not only Tuesday, but throughout the six years that he has been working with them.
BROOKVILLE — Punxsy 9-and-10 year olds took down Luigi's DuBois in round one of the Craig Lewis Memorial Tournament Tuesday in Brookville.
Punxsy's Willie Hoover went 3-for-3 from the plate with two doubles and three RBIs, leading his team's offense to victory.
Logan Johnston also had two doubles with three RBIs, going 2-for-3 at bat, and the team totaled eleven hits.
"I was impressed with everyone's play," Punxsy manager Mark Ewing said. "Everyone contributed really well."
Punxsy will take on the winner of the Franklin/ElCo II (St. Marys) game at 6 p.m. today in Brookville.
