Shortly after the junior high wrestlers kick off their season, the ninth-grade basketball team opens its season Friday afternoon. The boys' and girls' varsity teams will also open their seasons Friday night at the Marion Center Tip-Off Tournament.
Local youngster Caleb Bodenhorn, of Punxsutawney, nabbed this high-and-wide spike, his first buck, Saturday while hunting in Bell Township. The buck weighed in at 160 pounds.
Ryan Peffer, of Big Run, brought down this 150-pound four-point, his first buck, at 4:20 p.m. Saturday while hunting in Indiana County.
Chandler Emhoff, 13, of Worthville, harvested this 150-pound, six-point buck at 4:30 p.m. last Monday while hunting near Lantz's Bottom.
Kylee Lingenfelter, 11, of Punxsutawney, shot her first buck â a 140-pound seven-point â Saturday at 8 a.m. while hunting in the Ringgold area.
Punxsutawney local Sammy Gigliotti, 12, took down this six-point buck, weighing in at 115 pounds, last Monday while hunting in Bell Township. This was Gigliotti's first buck.
ROSSITER â Back in late October, Vernon Winebark, of Rossiter, received a call he's been waiting for the past nine years: One confirming that he was one-of-56 lucky hunters chosen to receive an elk license in the Pennsylvania Game Commission's annual license drawing.
