Punxsutawney Cheerleaders Senior Recognition night

One-point win for Raiders over Clarion

BROOKVILLE — Two touchdowns were all the Brookville Raiders needed Friday night to pose a 13-12 win over the Clarion Bobcats.

Despite trailing by 12 at halftime, the Raiders maintained their composure and came out strong in the third quarter.

"No one was panicking; no one was yelling at each other; no one was swearing at halftime," Raiders head coach Chris Dworek said. "The big thing was just being patient and keeping our mental focus. That was a big step."

Seniors shine bright in Lady Chucks' win on Senior Night

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Lady Chucks' volleyball team honored its seniors prior to Thursday night's game against the Lady Raiders of Brook-ville, and all four seniors — Cassie Cook, Janie Depp-Hutchinson, Brooke Doney and Tori Martin — were put in positions they weren't used to as they played the entire way around.

But the seniors stepped up and played incredibly well against the Lady Raiders, sweeping them in three games, 25-15, 25-14, 25-14.

Chucks hope to honor seniors with a win

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Chucks will honor the senior members of their squad in a ceremony tonight at Jack LaMarca Stadium, but Punxsy hopes to honor them in another manner, as well: With a victory.

Chucks take on muddy course conditions

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Punxsy boys' cross country team concluded its regular season Thursday by participating in the Tri State Cross Country Meet in Slippery Rock — a meet that hosted 58 teams in the boys' category.

Punxsy finished 37th in the meet, and although Punxsy head coach John Smith said he would have liked to finish around 30th, he noted that muddy course conditions made for tough sledding for his team.
