Two of a kind: Another pair of wins for Punxsy

October 17, 2011

DUBOIS — Punxsy's seventh- and eighth-grade basketball teams played well on both sides of the ball again, using solid defense and consistent scoring from a variety of players to earn a pair of wins against the Lady Beavers in DuBois Monday afternoon.

In the eighth-grade game, Punxsy led 21-10 after three quarters and held off a late rally by DuBois to win 24-17.

"The girls played really well," Punxsy head coach Mike Carlson said after the game. "Our man-to-man defense was the best it's been all season."
