James L. â€śSkipâ€ť Kunselman, 78, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at UPMC Hamot, following a brief illness.
He was born in Hamilton, Pa. on Oct. 28, 1936, a son of the late Oral and Mary Edna Kunselman.
Skip was employed at General Electric Co. until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He collected beach glass and made beach glass jewelry.
Elsie E. â€śBettyâ€ť Zents, 89, of Brookville, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Brookside Senior Living, Brookville.
She was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Brookville, a daughter of the Clarence W. and Rose Winters Dinger.
On May 5, 1950, she married the late Francis E. Zents, in Brookville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2001.
For 41 years, she was co-owner and bookkeeper for Zents Brothers Construction in Brookville and also worked for several years at G.C. Murphy Company in Brookville.
Joe Lundy, 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, in Warren, with his family by his side.
He was born on July 15, 1944, in Punxsutawney, the son of Earl and Jane Lundy.
Joe graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1962 and would go on to work at Van Huffel Tube and Vanex Tube. He retired in 2011.
In his free time, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, walking his dog, Molly, and NASCAR. Joe was also a member of the Bazetta Cortland Optimist Club and served as governor and president of the organization.
Diane M. Tangren, 57, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Miss Tangren was born Dec. 12, 1957, in Indiana, Pa., a daughter of the late H. Ray Tangren and Jean B. (Droney) Tangren of Punxsutawney, who survives.
She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church.
Diane enjoyed visiting with her family, music, dance and working on puzzles.
Mildred Anna (Berkeybile) Burkett, 94, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, in Home, Pa.
She was born March 13, 1920, in Pittsburgh. She was the youngest child of James and Anniebelle (Martin) Berkeybile.
She was raised near Pittsburgh near Hazelwood, where she met her husband, Luther Burkett.Â They lived there for 13 years before moving to Punxsutawney.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Floyd, Charlie, Wilda Duffy and Olive Keifer; a grandson, Shawn Haggerty; and a son-in-law, Jack White.
Bonnie Jeanne Brocious, 90, formerly of Timblin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday morning, Dec. 13, 2014, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Bonnie was born on Aug. 4, 1924, in Dora, the daughter of the late William and Jeanette Milliron Geist. She was married to Wilmer Brocious on March 17, 1944. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1971.
R. Lynn Bennett, 67, of Rossiter, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Punxsutawney, a son of Avanell E. (Humble) and the late Robert E. Bennett.
He was a member of the Punxsutawney Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder.
He was a former employee of Loree Footwear, PennDOT and IUP Housekeeping.
Sharon Leone Grose, 69, of Big Run, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1945, in Crestline, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lester and Vivian (Nolder) Bausch.
Sharon served in the United States Navy.
On May 26, 1990, she married Roby Junior Grose. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2014.
She was a familiar face of the Big Run Bank, where she had worked over 33 years through many changes of ownership, such as Citizen's Keystone, Integra and, most recently, Marion Center Bank. She took pride in her work as teller and customer service.
Myrtle E. (Meckley) Sprankle, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Sprankle was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Marchand, a daughter of the late William H. and Lula B. (Gearhart) Meckley.
Mrs. Sprankle is survived by her loving husband, William L. Sprankle Sr. of Punxsutawney. They were married Nov. 22, 1946.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Her family and faith always came first in her life.
John J. Smith, 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
