Anna M. Serge, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Serge was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Valier, a daughter of the late Nicholas Schepis and Mary (Sano) Schepis.
Nov. 11, 1947, she married the love of her life, Joseph M. Serge, who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2012.
Mrs. Serge was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.
She worked many years as a legal secretary for Attorneys Ferraro and Young before retiring.
Ronald Zimmerman, 50, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center in Pittsburgh.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
Carl E. Benson, Sr., 78, of Punxsutawney, passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, and into Godâs eternal glory while surrounded by family who were lifting him up in prayer.
Born April 13, 1934, Carl was the son of Oscar C. and Henrietta M. (Harrold) Benson.
He was also a son of God, through his acceptance of his Heavenly Fatherâs plan of salvation. He lived a life that was defined by his love for these two families: earthly and spiritual.
Ruth I. Greenawalt, 90, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at AM/PM Personal Care Home.
She was born July 26, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late James and Sarah Jane âJennieâ (Sheesley) McClincy.
On Feb. 9, 1946, she married the late Clarence A. Greenawalt, who preceded her in death on July 26, 1985.
She worked in the office at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 24 years.
She was a member of the Punxsutawney Baptist Church and a member of the Historical Society for 18 years.
Betty A. Shirley, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
Mrs. Shirley was born Nov. 3, 1926, in Walston, a daughter of the late Gustave W. Burkholtz and Lula Mae (Salsgiver) Burkholtz.
She was married to Ronald E. Shirley, who survives, of Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Shirley was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
She worked many years at Loree Footwear before retiring.
She was a member of the Punxsutawney Senior Center and former president of the Grandmothersâ Club.
Richard L. Brown, 73, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, went home to be with his Saviour on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at his home.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints â Psalm 116:15.
He was born on July 7, 1939, in Rochester Mills, Pa. to the late Louise (nee Work) and Richard C. Brown.
He gathered with the Christians at Myrtle Street Meeting for many years.
He was a barber for 46 years, Owner of Brownâs Westgate Barber Shop for 20 years and worked at Terex, GM for more than 8 years.
John H. London, 80, of Big Run, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at home with his family.
He was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Big Run, a son of the late Edison M. and Edith (Sutter) London.
He was a member of the last graduating class from Big Run High School in 1951.
On April 26, 1953, he married the former Beverly Jane Roney. She survives.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney. He was a member of the church choir and really enjoyed singing, even outside of church.
Rosemarie McCully, 82, of Smicksburg, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Communities of Indian Haven.
She was born in 1930 in Braddock, the daughter of Robert and Loretta Keibler Wallace.
Mrs. McCully was a homemaker and was a resident of North Mahoning Twp. for the past 46 years.
Anna Mae Hoefer, 73, of DuBois, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Hoefer was born in June 1939 to parents Quay M. and Mary Agnes Shields of Covode.
Anna Mae married Louis Hoefer and co-owned Hoeferâs Studio and Camera Shop in Punxsutawney until her husbandâs death in December 1973.
Hazel M. Cielo, 94, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
She was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Etna, Pa., a daughter of the late Salvadore and Amelia (Nero) Urso.
In August of 1934, she married Kelly R. Cielo, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2003.
They were the former owners of Kelly Cielo Ford Motor Sales Inc.
She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, gardening, bead work, reading and cooking and baking.
She was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church.
