Helen M. Frantz, 95, Punxsutawney, died Oct. 21, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1919, in Adrian, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Istvan) Bendlock.
On Nov. 3, 1941, she married Millard J. Frantz in Punxsutawney. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1980.
Helen was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Groundhog Campers Association and a former member of the Ladies Guild of Ss Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
Joseph T. Renwick, 73, of 133 Terrace Road, St. Marys, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 23, 1941 in St. Marys, the son of the late Aurelia E. Oâ€™Donnell and the Honorable State Representative William F. Renwick.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959, and was a 1963 graduate of Alfred University.
Joyce Ann McClincy, 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1930, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Howell) Snyder and Gerald â€śBusâ€ť Snyder and the only granddaughter of the late Charles Snyder, who at one time was the owner of the Pantall Hotel and Prothonotary of Jefferson County.
Joyce was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1948. She was a very stylish woman and a pet lover. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and skiing.
Agnes Johannah Keibler, 85, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.
She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Jeannette, Pa., a daughter of the late Albert Merle McCauley and Kathryn (Hays) McCauley.
On Dec. 18, 1946 she became the wife of Howard Eugene Keibler. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1990.
Agnes was a hardworking farmer's wife who wouldn't settle for the term "I can't do it." She was determined and headstrong and raised her children to be the same.
Louise Ethel Vasbinder, 84, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Christ the King Manor.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1930, in Langville, a daughter of the late Ellwood and Grace (Geist) Yount.
In 1949, she became the wife of Harry I. Vasbinder, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2005.
Mrs. Vasbinder attended the Grange Church of God.
She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a selfless, hardworking woman that worked daily on milking cows, farm chores and most importantly, caring for her family.
Joseph Francis Oâ€™Donnell, 87, of Sigel, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at home.
The son of the late John Patrick and Catherine Songer Oâ€™Donnell, he was born July 1, 1927, in Sigel.
He was married to the late Anna Marie Eisenman, who preceded him in death, on Oct. 25, 2008.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
Joseph was a lifelong dairy farmer.
He belonged to the St. Dominics Church, of Sigel, and the Knights of Columbus.
Barbara Ann Reed, 77, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born May 11, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Harry and Maude (Smith) Whitesell.
On February 23, 1957, she married Gilbert M. Reed in Emerickville, Pa., who survives.
Barbara loved the Lord. She was a member of the Grange Church of God, where she taught Sunday School and spent many hours volunteering her time.
She worked as a monitor at Mapleview Elementary School for 40 years and was known as Grandma Barb to thousands of students.
Denise (Helbling) Sunderland, 80, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at AM/PM Personal Care Home, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born Dec. 23, 1933, in New Brighton, Pa., a daughter of the late A. G. and Esther (Lehnert) Helbling.
She attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1955 as a Registered Nurse. She also graduated from the USAF School of Aviation Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base as a Flight Nurse in 1962.
Denise was a member of the VFW in Punxsutawney, where she served as president for 10 years.
Hazel C. Shimel, 84, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, after a valiant, determined struggle. She was fortunate to die at home with her family.
Hazel was the widow of Ronald L. Shimel and the daughter of the late Radie Almeda Mauk Caylor and Clarence Caylor, and was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Frostburg Pa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Jacob Caylor, and two sisters, Leona Schaffer and Evelyn Woodrow.
Denise H. Sunderland, 80, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at AM/PM Personal Care Home.
