RoseMarie Marasco, 78, Santa Barbara, Calif., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Walston, a daughter of the late Rosario and Josephine Marasco.
RoseMarie was raised in Punxsutawney. She was a graduate of St. Vincent
School of Nursing in Erie, Pa.
She lived in Santa Barbara, Calif., since 1970 and worked as a nurse in several hospitals.
An avid cook of Italian cuisine, RoseMarie wrote and published a cookbook, "Di Tutto Cuore," a collection of recipes of family and friends.
Patricia R. Michele, 71, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 25, 1942, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Abbate) Rumfola.
In 1980, she married John G. Michele. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2007.
Patricia retired as a school teacher in Annapolis, Md., after many years of service.
She was one of the founding members of the Theatre Arts Guild and the Young Womenâ€™s Club, both in Punxsutawney.
She enjoyed the Ladies of the Lake and her book and quilting clubs.
Monika Young, 67, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at home.
She was born May 17, 1946, in Aidenbach, Germany, a daughter of the late George C. Sparks and Helene (Tschache) Sparks, who survives.
On Oct. 1, 1963, she married Denny Young. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 2013.
Monika was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles Auxiliary, having served as Past Madame President.
Cynthia E. Heschke, 52, of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Cynthia was born March 2, 1961, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of Velma (Himes) Smouse, who survives, of Soldier.
She was married to Richard H. Heschke, who survives, of Punxsutawney.
Cynthia worked many years for the Head Start Program as a teacherâ€™s aide.
She was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church and also attended the Punxsutawney Church of the Nazerene.
She loved traveling, swimming, scuba diving, boating, Zumba and children.
William Carl â€śBillâ€ť Anderson Jr., 62, of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at his home with family.
Bill was born Dec. 6, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late William Carl Anderson Sr. and the late Lenna â€śMarlysâ€ť Hubbard.
Bill is survived by his three children, William Carl Anderson III of Denver, Colo., and Corrie Ann Anderson and Amy Marie Anderson of Pittsburgh; his ex-wife Jessie Ann Anderson of Punxsutawney; as well as his beloved dog, Ruby.
Jane O. Baun, 82, Punxsutawney, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born Oct. 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Alexander and Olga (Anderson) Campbell.
She was first married to John Milliron, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 15, 1976. She then married Elmer Baun, who survives, on Oct. 1, 1981.
Jane was a kind and gentle spirit, a true lady, as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside, who loved her family above all else. She will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity to everyone.
Rocco E. Pape, 80, of Rossiter, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Pape was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Louis Pape and Anna (Galletta) Pape.
He was married to Martha E. (Kendra) Pape, who survives, of Rossiter.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army with the 776 Field Artillery.
Rocco was the former chief of the Rossiter Volunteer Fire Co. for many years.
Sylvia (Miller) Fisher, 37, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1975, in DuBois, a daughter of Mervin E. and Esther J. Miller of Punxsutawney.
On Nov. 17, 1994, she married Daniel C. Fisher. He survives.
James Louis Stellabuto, 86, of DuBois, formerly of Big Run, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born Jan. 20, 1927, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Antonio and Emma (Manzzoni) Stellabotta. After his mother's early death, his father was remarried to Domenica "Margaret" Lorelli.
Mr. Stellabuto was a member of the United States Navy, serving during World War II, where he earned the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Betty E. Myers, 87, Worthville, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
She was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Rural Valley, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Shaffer and Alma Glontz Shaffer.
On March 31, 1946, in Worthville, she married Harry I. â€śCalâ€ť Myers, who survives. They were married for 67 years.
Betty worked at Sylvania in Brookville, as a waitress at Ruth & Harryâ€™s Restaurant in Punxsutawney, and also as a caregiver and nurseâ€™s aid at Blose-McGregor Nursing Home in Punxsutawney.
