Richard Henry Ellenberger, 90, of Big Run, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Mulberry Square.
He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Franklin Philip and Ella Mae (Smyers) Ellenberger.
Richard was a member of the St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run.
Mr. Ellenberger was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II. He was a charter member of the VFW Post No. 9044 in Big Run.
Mr. Ellenberger was a Free and Accepted Mason with the Milnor Lodge No. 287 of Pittsburgh for 57 years.
James E. â€śDodâ€ť Wyant, 80, of Mayport, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at his home.
James was born March 12, 1934, in Timblin, Pa., to Ira E. and Pearl (Burkhouse) Wyant.
James was a lifetime resident of the area, and honorably served in the U.S. Army.
He worked for many years as the Redbank Township Supervisor, but also loved farming on his land. Running the tractor and raising cattle for his family were two of his favorite things to do on the farm.
James Edward Richards of Punxsutawney passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, a location to which he had been airlifted earlier in the day. The cause of death was heart failure, a challenge with which he had struggled aggressively for more than a year.
Peggy Jane Monoskey, 90, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.
She was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Canoe Twp., Indiana County, a daughter of the late Sanford Clay â€śBobâ€ť and Pearl (Pearce) Seger.
On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Steve Monoskey. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1994.
Peggy was a dedicated wife and mother. Her biggest enjoyment was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She attended both the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and the First Church of God.
Anastasia V. "Stacy" Karolick, age 88, of Buffalo, New York, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Weinburg Campus, Getzville, New York.
She was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Delano, Pa., a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (nee Wilk) Karolick.
She was an employee of Erie County for 33 years before retiring in 1993.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Walsh and Helen Pruzinsky, and her brothers, Rev. Phillip, Walter, Edward, Stanley, Michael, Raymond and Donald Karolick.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Loretta J. Wazelle, 67, of Brookville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at her home.
Ms. Wazelle was born Sept. 8, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Reed R. Adams and Jean V. (Milliron) Wazelle of Punxsutawney, who survives.
Loretta began her trucking career in 1992. She was employed by AGX Trucking Company in Clarion. She was a master equestrian, avid gardener, lover of the outdoors and a true Christian.
Blair D. Gearhart, 85, of Mahaffey, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, from Hillsdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hillsdale, Pa.
The son of Albert Blair and Clara â€śPeggyâ€ť V. (Weaver) Gearhart, he was born on March 8, 1929, in Bell Twp., Clearfield County, Pa.
Blair was a graduate of the Mahaffey High School.
Howard E. Yeaney, 80, of Reynoldsville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Penn Highlands Healthcare in DuBois.
Born April 11, 1934, in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Howard W. and Helen (Kromer) Yeaney.
On July 23, 1957, he married Donna I. Yeaney (Adamson) in Punxsutawney. She survives.
Howard was a steel worker for U.S. Steel, and retired in 1977. He was Protestant by faith.
He was a member of the Eagles and the Steel Workers Union.
Laurel Ann Magill, 56, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1956, in Hartford, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Farrie Elizabeth Mariner and Everett James Clark of Altoona.
Laurel enjoyed teaching the Bible, sketching, puzzles, plants and being outside in nature.
James â€śJimâ€ť A. Frederick, 82, of Parsippany, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at St. Clareâ€™s Hospice in Dover, New Jersey.
Born on Oct. 19, 1932, he was the youngest of 10 children to the late Sarah and J. Frank Frederick of Punxsutawney.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kelley Tucker and Tracey Osborne; four sons, Ronald of Fairfax, Virginia, Donald of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kenneth of Monaca, Pa. and John of DuBois, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three siblings, Mary, June and Richard.
