Sandy Rae Frampton, 49, of Johnstown, formerly of Reynoldsville, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at home in Reynoldsville with her family.
She was born Aug. 5, 1961, in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of John Elroy and Laudrea Catherine (Brewer) Frampton, who survive, of Reynoldsville.
Ms. Frampton was a 1980 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. Following graduation, she attended Penn State-DuBois.Â
She worked as a profusion technician at Specialty Care Open Heart division of Connemaugh Hospital.
Olive Mary Fye, 91, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 28, 1919, in La Jose, a daughter of the late John and Belle (Williams) Sylvis.
Mrs. Fye was married to Glenn Fye, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Big Run Christian Church and the Sykesville Senior Citizens.
Douglas S. âTutâ Toth, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, after spending an amazing weekend with his family.
He was a son of Harry P. and Lois Jean (Stanford) Toth.
Mr. Toth was married to Rhonda Toth.
He was known for his love of sports and coaching abilities, the love of hunting and the outdoors, and his caring heart and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Mr. Toth served the youth of the area as a softball, baseball, basketball and soccer coach through the years.
Paul H. Beck, 86, Route 119, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 21, 1924, in Winslow Township, a son of the late Cleveland L. and Mary (Lindemuth) Beck.
May 25, 1957, he married the former Nora Lorraine Wachob, who survives.
Mr. Beck previously worked for Gaston Lumber.
He was a member of the Henderson Grange No. 1315 and the Ponoma Grange.Â He volunteered for the Jefferson County Fair for many years since the 1960s, when it was located in Sykesville and called the Town & Country Fair.
Hazel Helene Minnick, 91, of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Punxsutawney,Â died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.
She was born April 20, 1919, in Harmony, one of 11 children of Thomas and Violet (Beatty) Young Sr. Â
She was married to Edward James Minnick Sr., who preceded her in death in 1999.
Mrs. Minnick lived in Punxsutawney for 40 years prior to moving to State College for about 10 years, and then settled in southwest Florida.
Teresa L. Murphy Davis Depp, 81, of Belle Valley, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at her residence following a brief illness.
A resident of Erie most of her life and Punxsutawney for 10 years, she was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Newell Creek, a daughter of the late Clement Joseph and Edith (McChesney) Murphy.
She was married to her first husband of 42 years, Theodore Davis, who preceded her in death. She then married James H. Depp, who also preceded her in death.
Alys Barr Hivick, 84, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
She was born May 18, 1926, in Hazen, a daughter of the late Clayton and Lydia (Swineford) Barr.
Mrs. Hivick graduated from Brookville Area High School and was a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church. She worked in the office of Dr. Kenneth Shick for many years and later in the Assessment Office of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
William Walter âBillâ Steele, 81, Rochester Mills, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Feb. 14, 1929, in North Mahoning Township, a son of the late Walter H. and Twilia M. (Hoover) Steele. He was raised in Titusville and was a graduate of Colestock High School.
Sept. 12, 1948, he married Mary E. (Gaffney) Steele, who preceded him in death.
Twila I. Meneely, 86, Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Ms. Meneely was born Aug. 12, 1924, in Valier, a daughter of the late William E. Meneely and Alma (Leckburg) Meneely.Â
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Ms. Meneely worked for Capital Finance for 20 years and later for Union National Bank for 13 years before retirement. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and working tirelessly on family genealogy.
Surviving relatives include a sister-in-law, Doris Meneely, and many nieces and nephews.
Donald E. Wilson, 80, DuBois, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Big Run, a son of the late Cordray & Inez (Hottel) Wilson.
April 28, 1952, he married Evelyn (Hudak) Wilson, who survives.
He was a veteran of the Korean War having served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, serving with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Wilson was the Quality Assurance Manager of Symco Inc. in Sykesville for 18 years, and then retired as the Plant Manager of Clearfield Powered Metals.
