John P. Kostick, 92

John P. Kostick, 92, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at his home.

He was born April 9, 1919, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late John P. and Mary (Baker) Kostick Sr.

He was married to Anna M. (Misiewicz) Kostick, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Kostick served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church and the Punxsutawney Eagles No. 1231.

Trudell Katherine Bingaman Gromley, 86

Trudell Katherine Bingaman Gromley, 86, Burnside, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at home.

She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Banks Township, Indiana County, a daughter of Melvin E. and Violet E. (Spencer) Bingaman, and step-mother Cora V. Bair Bingaman.

April 6, 1946, she married Elmer E. Gromley, who survives, in Burnside, Indiana County.

Mrs. Gromley was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glen Campbell and also attended Christian churches in Gipsy and Cookport.

Max L. Moore, 86

Max L. Moore, 86, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Everett J. and Cosie (Smith) Moore.

He was married to Eleanor "Jane" Moore, who preceded him in death May 18, 2009.

Mr. Moore was co-owner and operator of Everett Moore Coal Company. He was a member of the Moose and the Punxsutawney Country Club.

He loved golfing, tinkering with old lawn mowers, tractors and dozers. He was known for his daily trips into town with his dog Snickers and loved watching reality shows and "Judge Judy."

Grace P. Neal, 85

Grace P. Neal, 85, Indianapolis, Ind., died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Rittenhouse Assisted Living.

She was born March 20, 1926, in Big Run, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Nell (Smouse) Patterson.

In July 1946, she married Robert Neal, who survives. They were married for 64 years.

Mrs. Neal was a graduate of Big Run High School, and in addition to being a dedicated mother, she worked as a secretary for MFA Insurance.

She was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Neal enjoyed gardening, her pets and being a homemaker.

Norma J. Mottern, 67

Norma J. Mottern, 67, Stump Creek, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.

She was born Nov. 27, 1943, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Marie (Lockard) Peace, who survives, of Punxsutawney, and the late Merle G. Peace Sr.

In December 1992, Mrs. Mottern married her husband, Gaill Mottern, who preceded her in death.

She was employed by the Area Agency on Aging, where she was a caregiver and also delivered the Tribune Review with her husband for many years.

John Brudnock, 88

John Brudnock, 88, Inverness, Va., died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at home.
He was born in DeLancey, a son of the late Metro and Mary Catherine Brudnock.

His wife, Mary, preceded him in death in 2005.

He moved to Florida from Baden in 1973 and was a retired M/Sgt in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Brudnock graduated from Punxsutawney High School and was a former member of Baden Lions Club.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Jerry Brudnock of Inverness, and John B. Brudnock of Doral, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Thomas Edgar Davidson, 76

Thomas Edgar Davidson, 76, Midland, Va., died April 12, 2011, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1934, in Mahaffey, a son of the late Eugene E. and Anna Marie (Murray) Davidson.

He was married to Louise Davidson, who preceded her in death.
Mr. Davidson served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after three years of service.

He retired as a forest warden with the Virginia Department of Forestry after 30 years of service and was a charter member of the Catlett Volunteer Fire Department.

Helen Snyder, 86

Helen Snyder, 86, Punxsutawney, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Juneau, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Tretzler) Lezak.

She was married to Arnold M. Snyder, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Mrs. Snyder was a secretary. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.

Surviving relatives include two nieces, Stacey Love of Punxsutawney, and Heather Serian Kunselman of Smyerstown; four nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Josephine Beyo, 92

April 15, 2011

Josephine Beyo, 92, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Wellington Heights.

She was born Oct. 27, 1918, in Rossiter, the daughter of the late Nicola and Bisolina (DelPrincipe) Finamore.

In August 1953, she married Michael B. Beyo, who preceded her in death.
Although born in Rossiter, Mrs. Beyo was raised in Pescasseroli, Italy. She returned to the United States in 1939.

Mrs. Beyo was a seamstress at Pramco in Punxsutawney. She was also the co-owner of Beyo's Keystone Service Station in Punxsutawney.

Alexander “Jake” Testut III, 66

Alexander “Jake” Testut III, 66, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He was born on Long Island, N.Y., a son of the late Alexander Testut II and Dorothy Wottawa.

Mr. Testut was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years before his medical discharge.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
