Joann Virginia Kunkle Jeffries, 70, of Home, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of Lyle W. and Virginia Bracken Kunkle, she was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Indiana.
Mrs. Jeffries was a graduate of Marion Center High School.
Joann was a caregiver and also a van driver for Indian Haven.
She was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening, yard work and all outdoor activities.
Joann was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Melvin Shepler, 83, of Industry, Pa., passed away early Monday morning, Feb. 18, 2013, with his family at his side.
He was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Henderson Township, Pa., a son of Homer and Leila Pearl Shepler.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War in the Atlantic Fleet aboard the USS New Kent PA-217.
He was an electrician with Pittsburgh Tube Mill for 32 years and was a member of Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and youth leader.
He was also a Little League coach and Boy Scout leader.
Wilbur Bair, 85, of Rossiter, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Mrs. Abigail “Gayle” Anderson, 90, of Lake Wales, Florida, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at her home.
She was born June 1, 1922, in Marion Center, Pa., and married her husband, Emory A. Anderson, Sr., on Dec. 19, 1941.
They lived in Lake Wales from 1957 until 1964 and returned to Lake Wales from Punxsutawney in 1986.
She was a loving wife and mother and a beautiful example of love and caring for her family.
She was a bookkeeper and a secretary alongside her late husband in their
family-owned businesses.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Lake Wales Woman’s Club.
Francis J. "Cheech" Esposito, 82, Brockway, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Brockway, a son of Frank and Maria Carmella Provenzano Esposito.
He was previously married to Martha Hoskavich, who survives, of Brockway.
He was the owner of Esposito Beverage in Brockway from 1951 until 2006.
He was a member of St. Tobias in Brockway.
Cheech was a lifetime member of the S.O.I. Club in Brockway and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Clark A. Rhodes, 85, of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Rhodes was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Adamsburg, a son of the late John P. and Alta E. (Norris) Rhodes.
Clark is survived by his wife, Marilyn A. (McQuown) Rhodes, of Punxsutawney.
They were married July 1, 1950.
Mr. Rhodes served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was retired from the Linde Company, a subsidiary of Union Carbide after 39-and-a-half years of service as a District Business Manager.

C. “Ray” Pearce, 53, of Mahaffey died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his home, where he most wanted to be, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
The son of Calvin Edsel and Imogene “Jean” (Muth) Pearce, he was born on Dec. 18, 1959, in DuBois.
Ray was a graduate of Purchase Line High School.
A man who greatly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, Ray especially loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and experiencing the freedom to head out on road trips.
Ray was a social member of the Sons of the American Legion in Glen Campbell.
Mary Rose (Melvin) Green, 98, of Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at St. Andrews, in Indiana, Pa.
She was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Rossiter, the daughter of the late David and Josephine (Caretti) Melvin.
Darlene De Voe Fairman, 72, of Hamilton, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Hospice of Hamilton in Hamilton, Ohio.
She was born in Punxsutawney on April 12, 1940, the daughter of Darrell and Ruth (DeVoe) Burns. She married Raymond Fairman on Feb. 10, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2012.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church (Hamilton, Ohio), where she had been active and chairwoman of many committees.
February 18th
Kathryn J. Snyder, 81, of Champion, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Renaissance North.
She was born July 25, 1931. in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Dallas Milliron and the late Lucy Burkett Milliron.
She married Ronald Snyder on June 7, 1950.
She attended the Church at Warren and loved her church family.
She was employed as a press operator at Packard Electric for 20 years.
Kathryn was a God-loving woman, and she had a very gentle heart.
