Eleanor Joan (Clinger) Kent, 82, Punxsutawney, formerly of Clarion, died Feb. 27, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1929, in Corsica, a daughter of the late George Leo and Alice Ethel (Snyder) Clinger.
Oct. 14, 1959, she married her husband of 43 years, Ralph Owen Kent, who preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1993.
Mrs. Kent worked at the Brookville Glove Factory as a seamstress; the O-I Glass plant in Clarion; Clarion University; Clarion Hospital; and Clarion Area Schools as a cook and dietary aide. She was a member of the O-I Auxiliary.
Ronald Newcome, Jr., 70, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Dubois Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 11, 1941 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ronald W. Newcome, Sr. and Mabel (Dinger) Newcome.
Sept. 8, 1962, he married Donna Belle Smith, who survives.
He was the Pastor of the Maple Grove Church of God.
He loved his family, his church family, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He spent a lot of his time at the church.
He was a loving caretaker to his wife and a loving father to his children.
He was an equipment operator for the P&N Coal Company.
James R. Dinger, 71, Harrisville, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
He was born July 20, 1940, in Knox Dale, a son of the late Charles I. and Anna May C. (Miller) Dinger.
April 29, 1961, he married Helen E. (Shaffer) Dinger, of Harrisville, who survives.
Mr. Dinger was employed as a machinist at Pulva Corp. of Saxonburg, retiring in June 2011 after 16 years of service. He was formerly employed at the former Cooper-Bessemer Co. in Grove City.
He was a member of the West Unity Community Church in Harrisville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Shirley L. McMillen, 69, Brookville, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
She was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Falls Creek, a daughter of the late William David and Mary C. Barnett Stauffer.
Ms. McMillen attended Reynoldsville High School.
She was formerly married to William Dale McMillen, who preceded her in death March 10, 1991.
Ms. McMillen was a waitress for 22 years at Truck Stops of America.
She was an active member of her church, the First Assembly of God in Punxsutawney.
Mary Jane Bodenhorn, 91, County Acres Personal Care Home, Titusville, formerly of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
She was born May 1, 1920, in Colombus, Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late James and Nannie Mae Sims.
She was the beloved wife of Paul N. Bodenhorn Sr., whom she married Jan. 26, 1943, and who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1974.
Mrs. Bodenhorn had been a secretary for Canoe Township for 20 years and held many positions while living at Mahoning Towers.
Betty Stear Long, 97, a longtime resident of Punxsutawney, passed away Feb. 1, 2012, at Brighton Gardens in Raleigh, N.C., after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Jean and Frank Stear.
After graduating from Punxsutawney High School in 1931, she attended Indiana State Teachersâ€™ College and was a third-grade teacher in the Punxsutawney schools until 1939, when she married Jesse P. Long, the love of her life.
Shirley L. McMillen, 69, Brookville, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at McKinley Heath Center in Brookville.

Pearl David (P.D.) Lott, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Beacon Ridge in Indiana.
He was born July 6, 1917, in Big Run, a son of the late David and Elizabeth A. (Wise) Lott.
Dr. Lott began his education in a one-room country school in Jefferson County, skipped two grades and graduated from Big Run High School. A 1937 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College (IUP), he later earned both a masterâ€™s degree and a doctorate in education from Penn State University.Â
Betty J. (Rader) Shaffer, 87, of Sligo, formerly of Mayport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.
She was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Ringgold Township, a daughter of the late John and Lucetta (Bodorf) Rader.
She was the beloved wife of William C. Shaffer, whom she married Sept. 6, 1941, and who preceded her in death July 4, 2005.
Mrs. Shaffer had been employed during her lifetime at Hawthorn Manufacturing, Rola Manufacturing and Sylvania.
She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church in Salem.
She cherished times spent with family and friends.
Mervin T. Martz, 82, Mayport, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Brookville Hospital.
He was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Worthville, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Nellie J. Richards Martz.
Mr. Martz was a 1947 graduate of Punxsutawney High School, and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
June 2, 1961, in Strattanville, he married the former Shirley M. Smith, who survives.
Mr. Martz worked as a mechanic for Ringgold Equipment in Ringgold for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, trapping and spending time with his family.
