Clarence Eugene Swarmer, 72, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at home.
He was born April 19, 1939, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Robert and Margaret Bonelle (Fullerton) Swarmer.
Sept. 13, 1975, he married the former Shirley Ann Daisher, who survives.
Mr. Swarmer servedÂ his country during the Vietnam era as a U.S. Marine and later served in the Army National Guard.
He worked as a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driverâ€™s license examiner in Punxsutawney.
Mazie L. Weaver, 88, a native of Punxsutawney and resident of Fairhope, Ala., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, Oct. 17, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Shaffer.
She was married to William C. Weaver, who preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Gayle Mallory and her husband Robert; two brothers, Frank Shaffer and wife Marion, and Joseph Shaffer and wife Patricia; and two sisters, Bertha Harrold and husband LeRoy, and Frances Rowe.
Bonnie Jo (Poole) Yohe, 47, of Brookville, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1964, in Indiana, a daughter of the late Robert W. and Shirley Jane (Clark) Poole Sr.
She was a 1983 graduate of Jeff Tech.
Ms. Yohe worked for Sheetz Inc. in Reynoldsvilleâ€™ and Brookville for 22 years.
She enjoyed riding her four-wheeler, camping, horses and Amateur Radio.Â She was a jokester and was always pulling pranks on someone.Â She liked everybody.
Roy E. Elbel, 94, Rockford, Ill., died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Willows Health Center in Rockford.
He was born Aug. 12, 1917, in Titusville, a son of the late Louis El and Florence M. (Frisbee) Elbel.
He was a 1941 graduate of Penn State University.
Mr. Elbel was a mechanical engineer and retired from Sundstrand Aviation in 1984.
He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Ruth J. Willert of Glendora, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty Jean McHenry, 88, Brookville, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Edward and Effie (Hoop) Holben.
March 1, 1947, she married Robert R. Mchenry, who preceded her in death Jan. 11, 2000.
Mrs. McHenry was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed her flowers.
Mamie L. (Jarbeck) Bosak, 74, DeLancey, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Michael and Madeline (Leba) Jarbeck.
She was married to Lawrence Bosak, who survives.
Mrs. Bosak was a homemaker and a graduate of St. Adrian Roman Catholic High School.
She was a lifelong member of St. Adrian Roman Catholic Church and a former president of its Rosary Altar Society and the church choir. She also maintained beautiful altars, as well as the church's annual festival.
Melvin E. Reasinger, 86, Coopersburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Sandy Township, a son of the late Howard and Beatrice (Reasinger) Rhodes.
He was the husband of H. LaRue (Schwartz)Reasinger, who survives, for more than 65 years.
Mr. Reasinger was employed as a master printer for Moore Business Forms for more than 40 years, until retiring in 1988.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a volunteer firefighter and fire police officer at the Coopersburg Fire Company. He also worked for the Coopersburg Ambulance.
Dorothy â€śOckieâ€ť Joyce Shaffer, 76, Rossiter, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at UPMC-Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
She was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Levi and Ethel (DeHart) Shaffer.
She worked in housekeeping at Havrillaâ€™s Personal Care Home in Rossiter for the past seven years. She will be remembered as a kind and conscientious person.Â She had previously worked at Green Acres Personal Care Home and at Rola-Jensen.
Donald L. Weisdock, 78, Newburgh Heights, Ohio, formerly of Punxsutawney, departed this life Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, to be with the Lord.
He was born June 7, 1933, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late George and Ethel Weisdock.
In 1974, he married the former Peggy Shepler, who survives.
Nellie Duene (Bullock) Bowser, 86, Indiana, formerly of Dayton, went to be with her Lord Oct. 13, 2011, at St. Andrewâ€™s Village, Indiana.
She was born June 28, 1925, in Timblin, a daughter of the late Asa and Nellie (Firemen) Bullock.
A war bride, she married Harry Laird Bowser Nov. 28, 1942. He preceded her in death July 18, 2007.
She graduated from Dayton High School in 1943.
Mrs. Bowser worked in the Dayton Elementary School cafeteria for many years, retiring in 1988. In honor of her service to the students and staff, the elementary yearbook was dedicated to her.
