Alexis Jane Clark, infant, Big Run, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.

She was born Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, daughter of Deanna Surkala and Stephen Clark, who survive, of Big Run.

In addition to her parents, surviving relatives include her maternal grandparents, Joseph Surkala and Tamela Robinson, both of DuBois; her paternal great-grandparents, Catherine and Marty Clark of Punxsutawney; her paternal great-grandmother, Charlotte Young of Anita; her paternal grandfather, Michael Clark of Punxsutawney; and her paternal grandmother, Toni and step-grandfather Robert Lewis of Timblin.

Leonard Emberg, 84

Leonard Emberg, 84, Union City, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Oscar and Liza (Chapman) Emberg.

Nov. 4, 1948, at the First United Methodist Church in Union City, he married Darlene Ballog, who survives. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past year.

Mr. Emberg attended Punxsutawney schools and then served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class during World War II.

He was retired from Barnes Group, Raymond Manufacturing, Corry.

Patricia Ann Zimmerman, 82

Patricia Ann Zimmerman, 82, Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in her home under hospice care.

She was born July 23, 1929, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Kingsley) Lento.

She was the wife of Earl Zimmerman, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oregon; the Eastern Star for many years; and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Surviving relatives include three daughters, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margie Astorino, 63

Margie Astorino, 63, Walston, died Monday, Feb.27, 2012, at Mulberry Square Eldercare and Rehabilitation Center in Punxsutawney, after a 21-year, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 26, 1948, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Ross and Antoinette (Belott) Astorino.

She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Walston, as well as a member of the Walston Club.

William E. Beezer, 82

William E. Beezer, 82, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Edward and Caroline (Lamison) Beezer.

He moved to the Punta Gorda area a year ago from Thomasville, Ga.

Mr. Beezer worked in pharmaceutical sales before retiring.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Beezer was Protestant by faith.

Eleanor Joan (Clinger) Kent, 82

Eleanor Joan (Clinger) Kent, 82, Punxsutawney, formerly of Clarion, died Feb. 27, 2012, at her home.

She was born July 23, 1929, in Corsica, a daughter of the late George Leo and Alice Ethel (Snyder) Clinger.

Oct. 14, 1959, she married her husband of 43 years, Ralph Owen Kent, who preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1993.

Mrs. Kent worked at the Brookville Glove Factory as a seamstress; the O-I Glass plant in Clarion; Clarion University; Clarion Hospital; and Clarion Area Schools as a cook and dietary aide. She was a member of the O-I Auxiliary.

Ronald Newcome, Jr., 70

Ronald Newcome, Jr., 70, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Dubois Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 11, 1941 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ronald W. Newcome, Sr. and Mabel (Dinger) Newcome.

Sept. 8, 1962, he married Donna Belle Smith, who survives.

He was the Pastor of the Maple Grove Church of God.

He loved his family, his church family, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He spent a lot of his time at the church.

He was a loving caretaker to his wife and a loving father to his children.

He was an equipment operator for the P&N Coal Company.

James R. Dinger, 71

James R. Dinger, 71, Harrisville, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

He was born July 20, 1940, in Knox Dale, a son of the late Charles I. and Anna May C. (Miller) Dinger.

April 29, 1961, he married Helen E. (Shaffer) Dinger, of Harrisville, who survives.

Mr. Dinger was employed as a machinist at Pulva Corp. of Saxonburg, retiring in June 2011 after 16 years of service. He was formerly employed at the former Cooper-Bessemer Co. in Grove City.

He was a member of the West Unity Community Church in Harrisville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Shirley L. McMillen, 69

Shirley L. McMillen, 69, Brookville, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Falls Creek, a daughter of the late William David and Mary C. Barnett Stauffer.

Ms. McMillen attended Reynoldsville High School.

She was formerly married to William Dale McMillen, who preceded her in death March 10, 1991.

Ms. McMillen was a waitress for 22 years at Truck Stops of America.

She was an active member of her church, the First Assembly of God in Punxsutawney.

Mary Jane Bodenhorn, 91

Mary Jane Bodenhorn, 91, County Acres Personal Care Home, Titusville, formerly of Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

She was born May 1, 1920, in Colombus, Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late James and Nannie Mae Sims.

She was the beloved wife of Paul N. Bodenhorn Sr., whom she married Jan. 26, 1943, and who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1974.

Mrs. Bodenhorn had been a secretary for Canoe Township for 20 years and held many positions while living at Mahoning Towers.
