Mary Y. Anibaldi, 92, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Slickville, a daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy (Lopey) Chester.
May 6, 1943, she married Robert J. Anibaldi, who preceded her in death May 9, 2007.
She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Anibaldi worked as a floor supervisor for Pramco, and she enjoyed baking, cooking and collecting antiques.
She loved her pet bird.
Gladys Louella McQuown, 94, Frederick, Md., formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Bell Township (Albion), a daughter of the late William H. and Emma (Sankey) Bargerstock Buck.
She was a 1936 graduate of Punxsutawney High School, and in 1939, she married Samuel McQuown, who preceded her in death in 1988.
Jerry M. Wells, 79, Rossiter, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Austintown, Ohio, a son of the late Lewis and Grace (Delp) Wells.
Dec. 31, 1954, he married Nettie L. Calvert Wells, who preceded him in death Oct. 23, 2008.
Mr. Wells retired as a final repairman for the General Motors Lordstown Plant in Youngstown, Ohio, after 20 years of service.
He was Protestant by faith.
Mr. Wells was a veteran, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Harry M. Manners, 97, Cloe, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Wellington Heights, Punxsutawney.
He was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Albion, a son of the late John Albert and Katy Arminta (Himes) Manners.
May 11, 1942, he married Wilma Yohe, who survives, of Big Run. They lived in Cloe for 68 years.
He was employed as a carman and wreckmaster by the B&O/C&O railroad for 35 years and retired from there in 1975.
He served as a PA State Constable and Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff for many years.
Mr. Manners enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, fishing, bowling and golfing.
John Clair Woods Sr., 73, Rossiter, died Monday, May 28, 2012, at home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late John Allen and Edith May (Oaks) Woods.
July 15, 1967, he married the former Lillian Jane Hill, who survives.
Mr. Woods was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church.
He was also a member of the Rossiter American Legion.
Mr. Woods worked as a tree trimmer for Penn Lines and Asplundh. In recent years, he was a driver for the Amish.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and in his younger days, he was a boxer in New York.
Emma Jane Larimer, 89, Punxsutawney, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Wellington Heights, Punxsutawney.
She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Stanton, a daughter of the late Richard and Emma Ruth (Thrush) Shields.
Oct. 25, 1947, she married Lawrence James Larimer, who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 2008.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney.
She was a very active member of Shoregate Methodist Church in Willowick, Ohio, where she was a leader within the church.
David Allison Brown, 87, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at AM/PM Personal Care Home in DeLancey.
He was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late David Earl and Grace (Williamson) Brown.
May 31, 1946, he married the love of his life, Carrie Irene â€śScoopâ€ť Hodgson, who preceded him in death Oct. 15, 2006.
The couple enjoyed one another immensely and loved to dance together.
Mr. Brown was a Master Sergeant in the Army, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. He was very proud to be a veteran and encouraged others to be patriotic.
Nancy A. Heitzenrater, 68, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 18, 1943, in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late John S. and Margaret E. (North) Heitzenrater.
She was Protestant by faith.
Ms. Heitzenrater enjoyed attending Camp Friendship, puzzles, crafts and spending time with her family.
James Robert (Bob) Sink, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Veterans' Day, Nov. 11, 2011.
He was the second son of Walter E. and Ethel Mae (Montgomery) Sink.
He was born April 11, 1923, in DuBois, and was raised in DuBois and Punxsutawney.
Mr. Sink lived most of his adult life in Virginia and Florida.
He never lost his love of music, golf and the Elks organization. He was twice the Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge No. 2672 in Ruskin, Fla.
Elizabeth Bonfanti, 87, Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Patty Calabria and Margaret (Saporito) Calabria.
She was married to Anthony â€śNinoâ€ť Bonfanti, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bonfanti loved cooking, baking and homemaking. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
