Ruth E. Hogan, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Moorehead House, Indiana, where she was a resident for the past two years. She previously resided in her home on Rustic Lodge Road, Indiana, after living in Regent Square in the Pittsburgh area for nearly 25 years.
She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Wallace C. and Jean (Brown) Wolfe.
For 58 years, she was married to Donald G. Hogan, who preceded her in death Dec. 3, 2003.
They were married June 17, 1945, at the Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.
Shawna M. Marshall, 52, Mahaffey, formerly of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at her home.
Miss Marshall was born Sept. 4, 1959, in Dodge City, Kansas, a daughter of the late Harold Marshall and Betty Clover and step-father Phil Clover, who survive.
She was a graduate of Calvary Christian Bible School.
David Howard Potts, 87, Marion Center, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 12, 1925, in Home, a son of the late Arthur R. and Esther E. (Northine) Potts.
He was married to Marybelle Geesey Potts, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Potts proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he helped in the engineering and building of the Panama Canal.
Mae Jean Beck, 87, Brockway, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Highland View Health Care, Brockway.
She was born May 20, 1925, in Westville, a daughter of the late Donald D. and Florence (Hetrick) Dobson.
Sept. 2, 1950, she married Archie B. Beck, who preceded her in death March 19, 2007.
Mrs. Beck was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hormtown.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Mary P. Karkosy of Freemont, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William O. Dobson.
Beverly D. â€śBeaâ€ť Hinderliter, 69, Coolspring, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Dee Glenn and Elizabeth Amy (McCana) Sutter.
Nov. 9, 1963, she married Charles Franklin Hinderliter, who survives.
Mrs. Hinderliter was a 1960 graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School and worked for several years at Pramco and Punxsy Sportswear, as well as with her husband at Hinderliterâ€™s Garage for more than 20 years.
Theodore Meko, 92, Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1919, in DeLancey, a son of the late Michael and Catherine (Sivanich) Meko.
He was a veteran of the National Guard since 1940 and the U.S. Army, having served during World War II with the 190 Field Artillery, Battery B.
He was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church and the Punxsutawney Eagles.
May 11, 1946, he married Elizabeth E. "Eileen" (Beggs) Meko, who survives, originally of Larne, United Kingdom.
Bertha Froese Enns Anthony, 97, died June 10, 2012, at home.
She was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Rosenort, East Manitoba, Canada, but grew up near Brownsville, Texas, after moving to the United States as a child.
She graduated from Brownsville High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year.
June 15, 1933, she married Mark Alexander Anthony, who preceded her in death in 1983.
Shortly after her marriage, Mrs. Anthony moved to Pennsylvania and lived the rest of her life in the Rochester Mills area.
Mona Mae Pearce, 79, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center in Punxsutawney.
She was born June 13, 1932, in Juneau, a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Palmer) Hartzfeld.
She was married to Francis W. Pearce and Norman H. Pearce, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pearce was a member of the Chestnut Grove Independent Church of Punxsutawney.
Parnell Grant Reed, 89, Punxsutawney, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at DRMC, DuBois.
He was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Timblin, a son of the late Robert and Leona (Wonderling) Reed.
Dec. 24, 1941, he married Iona Grace (Hawk) Reed, who preceded him in death Dec. 25, 2007. They were married for 66 years.
Mr. Reed worked in the coal mines in the early part of their marriage, and was then employed by the B&O and the C&O railroads as a brakeman until his retirement after 38 years of service.
Mary E. London, 89, of Cortland, Ohio, formerly of Oliveburg, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio, after a recent fall at home.
She was born March 3, 1923, in Oliveburg, a daughter of the late Norman and Fern (Mitchell) Dinger Sr.
June 27, 1942, she married Paul E. London, who preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1996.
She enjoyed baking, working in the garden and spending time with her family.
