C. Richard (Skipper) Reed, 91, Ringgold, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1920, in Ringgold, a son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Landola (Perry) Reed.
Sept. 19, 1941, he married Mary M. Anderson, who preceded him in death Nov. 8, 2010.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church and the Ringgold Sportsmenâ€™s Association. He was also an original member of the Ringgold Area Volunteer Fire Company.
He was retired from Hanley Brick of Summerville.
Beverly A. Jesse, 86, Punxsutawney, formerly of Killeen, Texas, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, at her home.
She was born June 20, 1925, in Westminster, Mass., a daughter of the late Lewis R. and Effedelia (Harrington) Berry.
She was married to John W. Jesse Sr., who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jesse was a seamstress and was extremely talented at making afghans, crocheting and making doilies. She also enjoyed gardening.
Paul Albrecht, 85, of Trumbull, Conn., passed on to the Lord Friday, July 8, 2011, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn.
He born Jan. 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Hillard and Marie (Behn) Albrecht.
Mr. Albrecht was raised in the New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut metropolitan areas.
He was first married to Mary Bejou, who preceded him in death in 1971, for 23 years. He then married Frances Knopick, who survives, for 38 years.
Earl "Sandy" Cameron, 92, Plum Boro, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 8, 2011.
He was the son of the late Merle and Bertha (Seger) Cameron, who preceded him in death, of Rossiter.
He was married to his wife of 66 years, Doreen "Vicky" Cameron, who survives and is formerly of Bristol, England.
Mr. Cameron was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was also a member of the Teamsters for more than 60 years.
Betty Jane Craft, 71, Punxsutawney, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Aug. 17, 1939, a daughter of the late Ida Mae Miller and Arnold Fetterman.
June 8, 1957, she married Terry T. â€śTedâ€ť Craft, who survives.
Mrs. Craft had previously worked as an inspector at Sportswear and Ideal Products.
She loved spending time with her family and her dog, Timmy.Â She liked to fish, going to flea markets, Cook Forest and collecting porcelain dolls.Â She was also a Steelers fan.
Bertha A. Henery, 94, Sykesville, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at East Park Care Center, Ohio, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Curwensville, a daughter of the late George and Maria (Wellgus) Mayersky.
Dec. 31, 1945, she married Raymond "Jim" Henery, who preceded her in death in 2007. They were married for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Henery was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville. She was a volunteer at the DuBois Red Cross for 16 years.
George Michael Misurda, 66, Clymer, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana.
He was born June 19, 1945, in Clymer, the son of the late George and Christine (Laverick) Misurda.
He was married to Janice (Magas) Misurda, who survives, of Clymer.
Mr. Misurda was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer site, and also sang in the choir.
Gary Lee Cooper, 76, Glen Campbell, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings.
He was born May 20, 1935, in Sunbury, a son of the late Rev. Albert C. and Elizabeth â€śBettyâ€ť S. (Clark) Cooper.
Feb. 23, 1963, he married Irene C. (Androsky) Cooper, who survives, of Glen Campbell.
Mr. Cooper served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and then with the Combat Engineers.
Carolyn B. Phillips, 84, Punxsutawney, formerly of Mahaffey, passed away July 8, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
She was born March 3, 1927, in Bell Township, a daughter of the late Bruce R. and Linda (Passmore) Young.
She was married to A. Ray Phillips, who preceded her in death.
Rose M. Tote, 84, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Tote was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Frostburg, a daughter of the late Sam and Ann (Yorio) Barber.
April 15, 1950, she married John J. Tote, who survives, of Punxsutawney. They were married 61 years.
She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladiesâ€™ Rosary Altar Society.
Mrs. Tote sang in the choir for many years.Â
