Hunter David Mills, 6 weeks, 3 days old, of Rockwood, Pa., passed away on March 26, 2014, at Childrenâs Hospital of Philadelphia.
Hunter, the son of Colton David Mills of Somerset and Jamie Lynn Coleman of Rockwood, was born on Feb. 10, 2014.
Eleanor Levina Williams, 89, of Punxsutawney, died on April 9, 2014, at Mulberry Square Eldercare.
Eleanor was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Rockton, a daughter of the late Homer and Bessie (Bickel) Bonsall.
On Oct. 22, 1960, she married Elmer Ellsworth Williams, Jr., who preceded her in death on May 16, 1971.
Mrs. Williams attended the Salvation Army.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, making crafts and doing puzzles.
Reed (Pete) Russell Rhodes, 86, of Brookville, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Brookville Hospital.
He was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Tionesta, Pa., a son of the late Henry S. Rhodes and Evelyn Thompson Rhodes.
On May 22, 1947, he married the late Kathleen B. Wile.
Pete was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.
He worked as a salesman for Hiland Thompsonâs Wholesale Dry Good and Clothing, as partner in Emeryâs Tin Shop of Brookville, and for 17 years at DeMans Sporting Goods, as clerk and then newsroom manager.
Sarabelle M. Brennan, 92, of Punxsutawney, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 7, 2014, from Mulberry Square.
Mrs. Brennan was born July 30, 1921, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Amon F. and Flora Bell Means Mohney.
On Feb. 20, 1945, she married James F. Brennan, who preceded her in death on July 31, 2000.
A member of the First United Methodist Church of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Brennan was a former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.
Carmen M. Duttry, 95, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Curwensville, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1919, in Bloomington, a son of the late Franklin and Mae (Swatsworth) Duttry.
After 30 years of service, Mr. Duttry retired from Penelec, where he installed and read meters.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Curwensville, where he served in the capacities of deacon and trustee.
Betty A. Mohney, 83, of Batavia, N.Y., a medical secretary at the former Genesee Memorial Hospital in Batavia prior to her retirement in 1987, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia, N.Y.
Mrs. Mohney was born June 1, 1930, in Dora, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Gladys (Delp) Knapp.
Her husband, Guy M. Mohney, died July 19, 2009.
David E. McMasters, 66, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 5, 1947, in Spangler, Pa., the son of Earl R. and Shirley (Hollen) McMasters.
He was married to the former Beverly Peace, who survives.
He was a project manager in the construction industry.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He attended the Punxsutawney Alliance Church.
Gladys Evelyn Gaston, 72, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at home with her loving family.
She was born July 8, 1941, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Forrest Clinton and Leatha Luella (Vasbinder) Milliron.
On May 16, 1959, she married Lawrence Ray "Amos" Gaston. He survives.
Gladys worked as a housekeeper at Mulberry Square for 20 years.
Her pride and joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her two favorite cats, Toby and Jasper.
Robert âDaleâ Walker, 79, of Main St., Troutville, Pa., died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Christ the King Manor.
Born on Feb. 21, 1935, in Troutville, he was the son of the late John H. and Elizabeth (Stuller) Walker.
On Oct. 6, 1979, he married Gwendolyn Ruth (Mack) Walker. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He served on the USS Severin and the USS Briarius.
Dale was a retired union mason.
He was a member of the Chestnut Grove Independent Church in Punxsutawney and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Gayle A. Lines, 78, DuBois, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at her home.
Born Dec. 10, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Viola M. (Madsen) Leavitt.
On Dec. 18, 1954, she married William H. Lines Sr. in DuBois. He passed away March 30, 2003.
Gayle graduated from Sandy High School in 1953. She prided herself on being a homemaker.
As a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, she enjoyed singing in the church choir.
