Lonnie Prescher, 48, Stump Creek, passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Born March 11, 1966, in Bedford, Pa., he was the son of Haddie Carol Prescher Tipping, who survives in Ohio.
Lonnie is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Sammie Botelho of Stump Creek; three children, Billie Jo, Shawn and Tonya Kniseley, all of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren, Hayley Kniseley, Tye and Kiera LaBorde; two brothers, Bert and Brock Tipping, both of Ohio; three sisters, Renee Roper and Bridget and Erica Tipping, all of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen Martha Lyons, 99, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at home.
She was born in 1915 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Fred S. and Zula (Stiver) Heitzenrater.
On March 31, 1937, she married Harry J. Lyons, who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1988.
She was a member of the First Church of God of Punxsutawney.
Helen was a seamstress and specialized in drapery making.
She enjoyed reading the paper and keeping up with current events, crocheting, painting, reading, crafts and her dog, Benji. She was also a vendor at the Hazen Flea Market for more than 40 years.
Josephine â€śJoeâ€ť Marie Turner, 84, Falls Creek, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 1, 1930, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late James T. and Elizabeth (Reed) Strano. She was married to Irvin C. Turner, who preceded her in death.
Donna B. Newcome, 77, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Christ the King Manor.
Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
Dr. Joseph Michael Daniel Lisa, 86, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at his home.
Dr. Lisa was born May 8, 1928, in Jersey City, New Jersey, a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Gallo) Lisa.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara A. (Brauer) Lisa of DuBois.
He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in DuBois.
Idella (Rushton) Ober, 88, of Marion Center, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 after a short illness at her daughterâ€™s home in Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.
The daughter of Will and Grace (Abel) Rushton, she was born in Grant Twp., Indiana County, Pa., on Aug. 4, 1926.
She was a graduate of Marion Center High School.
Idella was a lifelong Lutheran. She was a member of the Grove Chapel Lutheran Church, Indiana, Pa. Idella was very active in her church activities and enjoyed being a part of the Lutheran Women.
Roy G. Miller, 78, of Mahaffey, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Miller was born May 16, 1936 in Mahaffey, a son of the late Dallas and Zoe (Baker) Miller.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy E. (Hunter) Miller.
Patricia A. Miller of Munroe Falls, Ohio, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014.
She was born July 11, 1952, in DuBois, Pa., the youngest child of James Edward and Anna Gertrude (Wachob) Soliday of Big Run and later of Cloe.
She graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1970.
She was employed in the office of the former Quaker Market in Punxsutawney before moving to Ohio in the mid-1970s.
She is survived by a brother, William (Yvonne) Soliday of Richlands, North Carolina, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Helen M. Frantz, 95, Punxsutawney, died Oct. 21, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1919, in Adrian, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Istvan) Bendlock.
On Nov. 3, 1941, she married Millard J. Frantz in Punxsutawney. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1980.
Helen was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Groundhog Campers Association and a former member of the Ladies Guild of Ss Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
Joseph T. Renwick, 73, of 133 Terrace Road, St. Marys, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 23, 1941 in St. Marys, the son of the late Aurelia E. Oâ€™Donnell and the Honorable State Representative William F. Renwick.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959, and was a 1963 graduate of Alfred University.
