Frances L. Rupert, 85

Frances L. Rupert, 85, of North Point, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Rupert was born July 6, 1929, in Timblin, a daughter of the late Marcus and Pauline (Coleman) Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald F. Rupert.

Frances enjoyed bingo, trips to Salamanca, playing cards and talking with friends and family. She also loved “The Price Is Right” and “Wheel Of Fortune.”

Patricia Alice Keller, 84

Patricia Alice Keller, 84, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Sept. 26, 2014.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Thomas Keller, loving mother of Gary (Sonia), Russ (Vivian) and Randy Keller. She was the grandmother of Brandon and Matthew Keller and Lisa (Brett) Evans, and great-grandmother of Elizabeth Evans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry F. and Lottie Lerch; and her siblings, Maxine, Helen, and Donald.

Patricia was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School and a longtime member of Hamilton Presbyterian Church.

Stephen Gomola, 81

Stephen T. Gomola, 81, of Reynoldsville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Gomola was born April 29, 1933, in Delancey, the youngest son of the late Steve and Mary (Sivanich) Gomola.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores A. (Molnar) Gomola.

Mr. Gomola was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he was a Captain.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church.

Robert M. "Bob" Byers, 68

September 27, 2014

Robert M. "Bob" Byers, 68, of Mahaffey, passed away Sept. 26, 2014, in Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Punxsutawney, a son of Richard and Emma (Wolfe) Byers.

Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of four years during the Vietnam era. He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Beckwith Machinery.

Randy L. Schultz, 57

September 23, 2014

Randy L. Shultz, 57, of Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1957. He is survived by his parents, Virginia "Ginny" and Larry E. Rose of Punxsutawney.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Tammy Fisher of Rochester Mills; one son, Nicholas Shultz and wife Jennifer of Oklahoma; two grandsons, Kai and Kale Shultz of Oklahoma; two brothers, Ricky P. Shultz and wife Josephine of Plumville and Russell J. Shultz and wife Alice of Punxsutawney; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances A. Wasicki, 91

Frances A. Wasicki, 91, of Rossiter, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, in Rossiter surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Wasicki was born June 8, 1923, in Rossiter, the only child of the late Thomas and Mary (Pollock) Hutchinson.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Wasicki, and one grandchild.

She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Her loves were her family, her grandchildren and crocheting. Frances was a member of the Buffalo Lodge Am Vets and the American Legion in Rossiter.

Benjamin Zane "BZ" Means, 90

Benjamin Zane "BZ" Means, 90, of Valier, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Valier, a son of the late Lynn Luther and Mona Marie (Gabrielson) Means.

Mary Lou Griffith, 86

Mary Lou Griffith, 86, of Plumville, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home.

She was born in 1928 in Banks Twp., to Earl and Sarah Tyger Lewis.
Mrs. Griffith had attended the Old Mahoning Baptist Church for many years.

She was employed by the Marion Center schools as a cook/cafeteria manager for 24 years and had been working at the Rayne Elementary School, where she was known as the “Tooth Fairy Pillow Lady.”

Truman F. Fry, Jr., 89

Truman F. Fry, Jr., 89, of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Mountain View Nursing Home, Hillsdale.

Mr. Fry was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Dallas Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Janet L. (Wolfgang) Fry, of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Fry was employed by Texas Instruments and Zerox before retiring. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was also a member of the American Legion, and was a WWII veteran of the US Navy.

Cody T. Haag, 27, of Rossiter, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at UPMC - Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

He was born July 9, 1987, in DuBois, the beloved son of Terry and Jeanne (Lunger) Haag.

He was a member of the Wheels of Yesteryear Car Club, and was a racing enthusiast and an avid sports fan.

He regularly attended the Steffy United Methodist Church.

He had a quick wit, a wonderful sense of humor and a caring heart. He touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was God’s angel, and now he walks with the Lord. He was not only his Dad’s son, but also his best buddy.
