Edward Allen Pearce, 83, passed away on Nov. 20, 2014, at VMP Trinity in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Plumville, Pa., to Edward Lloyd and Alice Elizabeth (Downing) Pearce and step-mother, Louise Irene Pearce.
Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, bowling and casino trips.
He worked and later retired as an electrical lineman for IBEW Local 9. He was involved with Cub and Boy Scouts Troop 76 in Waukegan, Illinois, for many years.
He was the beloved husband to the late Esther L. Pearce.
Lucy P. Ivens, 95, of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
Mrs. Ivens was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Walston, a daughter of the late Frank A. and Jessie (Carlino) Palmerino.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, William Ivens.
Lucy is survived by two sisters, Adelaide Palmerino and Rose Ann Fallara; two brothers, Alfred and James Palmerino; and several nieces and nephews.
David L. Pearce Sr., 80, of Philipsburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Pearce was born June 19, 1934, in Clymer, Pa., the son of the late Edward Lloyd and Alice Elizabeth (Downing) Pearce and stepmother Louise Irene Pearce.
He married Mildred Iris Huey, June 15, 1963, at Union Church in Aultman, Pa. She precedes him in death.
He was a 1952 graduate of the Marion Center Join High School in Marion Center, Pa.
Joseph Zinzella, 87, of Erie, Pa., passed away Sunday, Nov.16, 2014, at UPMC Hamot, with his family at this side.
He was born in Punxsutawney on February 14, 1927, son of the late Michael and Mary (Morris) Zinzella.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Andrew, George, Harry, John, Michael Jr. and Thomas; and three sisters, Alice Bendlock, Anna Lincinsky and infant sister, Agnes.
Colleen D. Humble, 63, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Ms. Humble was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Jim Craft and Jane (Cameron) Craft-Bartlebaugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Humble.
Colleen was a member of the Rossiter Calvary United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Rossiter American Legion and was an avid bingo player.
John Mahlon Fitzwater, 84, Pennsylvania Avenue, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.
Born on April 6, 1930, in Canton, Pa., John was the son of the late George Edson Fitzwater and Florence Hall Fitzwater. He was the youngest of six children.
John made his home with his life partner, Betty LaMarca.
Lois Elaine Sebring Burkett, 75, of Brookville, was called home by her heavenly father after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for over three years, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.
Mrs. Burkett was born May 16, 1939, in Grant Twp., Indiana County, Pa., a daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (Bartlebaugh) Sebring.
She married Nelson V. Burkett on Dec. 6, 1958, in Worthville, Pa. He survives.
She retired from the Brookville Area High School as a cafeteria cashier. She also attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brookville.
Barbara Jean (Zganjer) Minor, 85, Portage, entered into new life Nov. 17, 2014, at Maple Winds Care Center.
She was born April 30, 1929, in Beaverdale, a daughter of Charles and Anna (Lige) Zganjer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William R. Sr.; infant brother Rudolph; infant sister Frances; and brothers Frank, Steven and George.
James S. Barilar, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Barilar was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Sykesville, a son of the late James and Theresa (Lupo) Barilar.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Nase) Barilar, of Punxsutawney.
He was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church.
He worked for the B&O Railroad and later for Season-All Windows and became the supervisor for Thermal Guard.
He was a long-time coach of Little League and loved all sports. He was a member of the Punxsutawney Eagles and the Elks.
Evelyn Jean White, 75, of Juneau, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. White was born Nov. 28, 1938, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late John and Edna (Sutter) Williard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. White, Sr.
Evelyn was a volunteer for Punxsutawney Area Hospital and Community Action, Inc., where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2012. She loved bingo, doing yard work, word searches and was avid at crocheting. She was a devoted grandmother and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren.
