William â€śBillâ€ť Becker, 94, Snyder Road, Brookville, Rose Township, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Brookville Hospital, peacefully, surrounded by family.
He was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Brookville, a son of John Becker and Theresia M. (Kasparek) Becker.
He was married to Bertha A. (Snyder) Becker for one year, before she preceded him in death July 30, 1945.
Feb. 28 1947, in Oakland, Maryland, he married Althea B. (Snyder) Becker, who survives, and they celebrated 67 years of marriage.
William briefly served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
Ruth M. (Bodenhorn) Hoch Trithart, 97, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Jefferson Manor Health Center, Brookville.
She was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Jacob and Ethel L. (McCormick) Bodenhorn.
She was first married to Preston S. Hoch on June 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1971.
She then married Arment N. Trithart on Aug. 7, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1992.
She was the last remaining of her family.
She attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Bernice Elaine Seger, 82, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at home.
She was born March 30, 1932, in Smithport, a daughter of the late Ord and Anna Louise (Wetzel) Huey.
On June 21, 1952, she married Lester Ray Seger.
He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1996.
Her enjoyments were watching QVC, birds and deer. She also enjoyed her beloved cat, Cotton.
Albert D. Raffetto, 93, of Pleasant Gap, Pa., passed away on May 18, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 5, 1921, in Punxsutawney, to the late Frederick J. Raffetto and Jenny C. Bonini Raffetto.
He graduated in 1939 from Saints Cosmas and Damian High School in Punxsutawney and served in the United States Army during World War II.
In 1942, he married Jean Jordan, who preceded him in death in April 2010.
Albert was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte, Pa., and was also a life member of the B.P.O.E., Bellefonte Lodge.
Patricia A. Cressley, 61, Rochester Mills, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at home, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.
She was born April 26, 1953, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Paul I. â€śIkeâ€ť Mottorn and June (McGaughey) Mottorn, who survives.
On June 26, 1971, she married Fred A. Cressley, who survives.
She was a member of the Juneau United Methodist Church.
She worked as the CFO for DuBois Regional Medical Center for five years and has worked at DRMC for more than 25 years as a C.P.A.
She graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
James Dale Wells, Sr., 78, of Nassau County, Florida, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014.
He was born Sept. 2, 1935, in DuBois, a son of the late Fred and Ida L. (Johnston) Wells.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia June Wells, on Dec. 19, 2013.
He was a member of the Gateway to Life Church in Hilliard, Florida.
He owned and operated numerous restaurants in his early years.
The past 30 years, he owned J.D. Wells Auto Sales in Hilliard, Florida, and enjoyed working on cars and going to car auctions with his son, J.D. Wells, Jr., who now operates the business.
Irene Pearce, 83, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at AM-PM Personal Care Home in Adrian.
She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Clair and Clara (Powell) Martz.
She married Clyde R. Evans, who preceded her in death.
She then married Harold R. Pearce, who died April 25, 2014.
She was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.
Clyde Raymond Evans, 92, of Brookville, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.
He was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Wayne Boyd and Eva (Burkett) Evans.
Mr. Evans was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II.
He worked for TW Phillips for more than 30 years.
On June 21, 1981, he married Helen Louise Snyder. She survives and resides in Brookville.
His enjoyments were gardening, refurbishing old cars and welding. He also enjoyed football and baseball.
Judy Lundy, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2014, in Warren, with her family by her side.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary London.
Judy graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1961 and would go on to work for Lakeview Local Schools, where she was the secretary at Cortland Elementary.
She retired with more than 30 years of service to her community in 2009.
In her free time, Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, knitting, reading, walking her dog, Molly, and watching sports on TV.
Kathryn Virginia Humble, 84, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1929, in (MacGregor) Dayton, a daughter of the
late John William and Mary Violet (Hinderliter) Beck.
On May 1, 1944, she married John Jay Humble. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1990.
Mrs. Humble was a member of the Grange Church of God.
She enjoyed going to church, being with family, yard sales and watching â€śLittle House on the Prairieâ€ť and â€śThe Waltons.â€ť
