Arnold L. Dunmire, 82, of Young Township, died on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Dunmire was born on April 7, 1931, at home, in Rossiter, Indiana County, the second of four sons of Carlton C. Dunmire and Laura A. (Roush) Dunmire.
He spent most of his childhood and youth on the family farm in Banks Township, Indiana County.
Ina Jean Getty, 92, of Marion Center, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Getty was born Aug. 27, 1921, in Marion Center, the daughter of the late Cora (Rodgers) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" Getty.
Mrs. Getty was a life member of the Presbyterian Church of Marion.
Her hobbies were quilting, gardening and flowers.
Chadwick Aaron Heckman, 41, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
He was born Jan. 8, 1972, in DuBois.
On July 1, 1995, he married Crystal Lynn Brestovich. She survives.
Mr. Heckman worked as a meter tech at TW Phillips for more than 10
Chad was a beloved husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his kids.
He enjoyed restoring classic "muscle" cars, playing poker and pulling pranks.
He had a great sense of humor and liked to make everyone laugh.
Kevin Dale Cameron, 57, of Rossiter, died on Oct. 30, 2013, at home.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1956, the son of Ledzel âSamâ and Vernetta (Peterson) Cameron.
On March 19, 1977, he married his best friend, Cynthia Ewing. She survives.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Superior Energy Resources of Brockway.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going four wheeling on Sundays with his family, hunting and building things. He loved music and a good joke.
Donald James "Jim" Whiteman, Jr., 62, of Mahaffey, Pa., passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield.
Born Dec. 12, 1950, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Donald J. Whiteman and Shirley (Stroup) Whiteman, who survives.
Mr. Whiteman was a 1971 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and served in the United States Army.
He had been employed at Viko in Eldred, WR Case & Sons Cutlery and later in the local oil fields, and he worked for many drilling companies.
Lee âEagleâ Anderson, 74, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Punxsutawney and Kersey, Pa., passed on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
He was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Rochester, a son of the late Lee O. and Virginia (Bailey) Anderson.
Lee served a brief time with the U.S. Air Force.
He was a former employee of IBM Metals, Ridgway, and also worked construction for most of his adult life.
He loved the outdoors, and after earning the Eagle Scout Award at an early age, his heart was devoted to scouting.
Lee served in scouting for more than 40 years.
Gwendolyn A. Black, 88, of Brookville, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Clarion Hospital.
Mrs. Black was born Feb. 19, 1925, in New Castle, a daughter of the late George Welsheimer and Nellie (Woodward) Welsheimer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Black.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Brookville.
Mrs. Black loved her Bible, sewing, crocheting and reading.
Patricia Jane (Bartlebaugh) Troutman 67, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.
She was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Spangler, Pa., the daughter of the late Lonnie and Kathryn (Westover) Bartlebaugh.
She was married to Robert Lee Troutman, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1996.
She was a nurse's aide.
She was a Wesleyan Methodist by faith.
RoseMarie Marasco, 78, Santa Barbara, Calif., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Walston, a daughter of the late Rosario and Josephine Marasco.
RoseMarie was raised in Punxsutawney. She was a graduate of St. Vincent
School of Nursing in Erie, Pa.
She lived in Santa Barbara, Calif., since 1970 and worked as a nurse in several hospitals.
An avid cook of Italian cuisine, RoseMarie wrote and published a cookbook, "Di Tutto Cuore," a collection of recipes of family and friends.
Patricia R. Michele, 71, Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 25, 1942, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Abbate) Rumfola.
In 1980, she married John G. Michele. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2007.
Patricia retired as a school teacher in Annapolis, Md., after many years of service.
She was one of the founding members of the Theatre Arts Guild and the Young Womenâs Club, both in Punxsutawney.
She enjoyed the Ladies of the Lake and her book and quilting clubs.
