Nancy Ruth McClure, 85, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Gaskill Township, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Gaskill Township, a daughter of the late Otto and Kate (Kuntz) Ecelbarger.
She was a graduate of Big Run High School.
On Aug. 7, 1948, she married James Jeffrey McClure.
He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1983.
Ruth enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy J. Hoover and husband Don of DuBois.
Alfred N. â€śAlâ€ť Dempsey, 61, of Kersey, passed away Wednesday evening, May 1, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Franklin, Pa., a son of the late Alfred and Alice â€śLettie Jeanâ€ť Neal Dempsey.
He had been a resident of the area since 1975.
He was a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School, Class of 1971, and graduated from Vo-Tech in Reynoldsville in 1971. He was an employee of SGL in St. Marys for 33 years.
On Sept. 2, 1972, in the St. Maryâ€™s Church in Reynoldsville, he married Bonnie J. Pegnetter, who survives.

Elva A. Fike, 89, Mayport, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Jefferson Manor Health Center in Brookville.
She was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Oliver Township, a daughter of the late Manual J. and Myrtle (Moore) Burkett.
On Sept. 18, 1948, she married Dale E. Fike of Mayport, who survives.
Throughout her life, she was employed by Cameron, Sylvania, and Rolo.
Her family was her life.
She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and feeding and watching her backyard birds.
She attended the Langville Church, where she was the pianist.
Darien A. Neal, 43, of Rossiter, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at home.
He was born July 2, 1969, in Punxsutawney.
Darien worked for Joe Hanley Construction.
He was a devoted and loving father to his son, Orion.
He enjoyed playing baseball, and he absolutely loved fishing and hunting.
Darien was a kind and thoughtful man.
He made friends easily with his warm smile and gentle nature, and he always spoke well of others.
Marvin E. Richardson, 82, of Rossiter, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born June 12, 1930, in Johnsonburg, a son of the late Lee and Jennie (Yohe) Richardson.
July 1, 1953, he married his sweetheart, Mary Virginia (Reece) Richardson, who survives, of Rossiter.
Mr. Richardson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Marvin was a 1949 graduate of Marion Center High School.
He was the owner of Marvin's Used Cars since 1977, and in 1991, began operating Marvin's Garage with his son Dan.
Karen Leigh Davis, 53, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born July 3, 1959, in DuBois, a daughter of the late Edward Leo and Helen Marie (Carol) Mitcho.
On June 3, 1983, she married Kevin Charles Davis, Sr.
She was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.
Mrs. Davis was a home ec teacher for the Punxsutawney Area School District.
Her enjoyments were cooking, having a good laugh with her family and spending time with them, and the family dog, Tanner.
Bessie Magill, 88, of Brookville, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Jefferson Manor.
She was born March 14, 1925, in Ohl, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary H. (Raybuck) Reitz.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
In 1970, she married Paul E. Magill.
He preceded her in death on May 2, 1989.
Bessie worked at Jefferson Manor until her retirement in 1979.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clair, Charles and William Reitz; and a sister, Anna Reitz.
William D. â€śKellyâ€ť Hetrick, 89, a resident of Union Township, died on Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2013, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville following an extended illness.
His family was his life.
A resident of Brookville most of his life, he was born in Coolspring, Pa., on Dec. 19, 1923, a son of the late Everett T. Hetrick and Mary G. Alcorn Hetrick.
Williamâ€™s entire 40-year career was spent in the coal mining industry.
He retired in 1984 from C & K Coal Company (formerly W. P. Stahlman Coal Company), where he worked for 31 years as a Coal Preparation Plant Manager.
Kermit L. Knarr, 61, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Knarr was born March 24, 1952, in DuBois, a son of the late Ralph Knarr and Geneva (Buhite) Knarr, who survives, of Reynoldsville.
He was married to Debbie Knarr, who survives, of Punxsutawney.
Kermit was employed for over 20 years for Tilcon before retiring.
He attended the First Church of God.
He loved hunting, hunting camp, fixing things, cars, and most of all, his grandchildren.
