Velma L. Cressley, 94, of Juneau, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her daughterâ€™s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Cressley was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Juneau, a daughter of the late Merle White and Nora (Baun) White.
She was married to Ralph E. Cressley, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 2004.
Velma was a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church in Juneau.
She was employed by Rola-Jensen and Loree Footwear before retirement.
She was a special and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor who loved the Lord.
Curtis D. (Curt) Williams, 55, of Ligonier, formerly of Smithport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in 1958 to Delbert J. and Alda Jane (Elbel) Williams in Punxsutawney.
Curtis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen Campbell, Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer and Waterford Christian Church in Ligonier. He was a district manager for Trican Well Services, Mill Hall and a former district manager for Universal Well Services, Connellsville. Curt was a member of the Society of Petroleum
Anne Pauline Juliette, 96, of Rural Valley, died peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Indiana Hospital, surrounded by her loving, caring family.
She was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Yatesboro, the daughter of Antonio and Rose Taddeo Dorazio.
Anne was a Catholic her entire life and belonged to St. Mary Mother of God Church, Yatesboro, Pa.
Anne married Joseph Juliette in 1935, the beginning of a great love affair that lasted until Joe's death in 1995.
Mrs. Sally J. Cameron, 83, of Indian Lake Estates, Fla., died on Friday, June 7, 2013, at The Groves Center.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1929, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Harold and Emily Altman, and moved to Indian Lake Estates in 1996 from Bridgewater, N.J.
She was a retired real estate broker.
Sally was a golfer and enjoyed playing bridge and taught it to many.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Indian Lake United Methodist Church.
Velma â€śBabeâ€ť Keller, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 5, 2013, with family around her.
Babe was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Frank and Leila Harl.
After graduating from Punxsutawney High School in 1952, she attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., where she served as president of her schoolâ€™s chapter of Chi Omega Sorority.
After college graduation, she was employed as a case worker for the Childrenâ€™s Aid Society of Elk County, Pa.
Linda Ann (Pearce) Fry, affectionately known as â€śNanny," 66, of Westover, Pa., died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Cecil E. and Rhoda V. (Thomas) Pearce, she was born on May 12, 1947, in Spangler, Pa.
Linda was a graduate of the Purchase Line High School Class of 1965.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Glen Campbell American Legion, Post 435.
Nanny devoted her life to caring for her family, whom she loved dearly, especially her nine grandkids.
Thomas R. Zinzell, 88, of Wesleyville, Pa., passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, in Erie, Pa.
He was born July 1, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Michael and Mary Morris Zinzella.
Tom was an electrician, having worked for many contractors over the years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
Tom was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Club in Punxsutawney.
He enjoyed time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Frances Esposito Stephens, 64, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., formerly of Punxsutawney, lost her courageous battle to cancer on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
Frances was born May 31, 1948, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Connie
Esposito and the late Emilio (Curly) Esposito.
Following graduation from PAHS, Frances proceeded to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Department of Transportation.
She then traveled and lived in many states managing restaurants, eventually owning and managing her own restaurant, â€śLa Siesta,â€ť in Punxsutawney.
Mary H. Neese, 86, Princeton, Ind., died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at The Waters of Princeton.
She was born Sept. 24, 1926, a daughter of the late Maggie (Geist) and Jerry Alcorn.
She was married to Walter Neese, who preceded her in death.
Larry B. Pennington, 61, of Rossiter, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at UPMC Montifiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born April 2, 1952, in Erie, a son of the late Walter Pennington and Fannie (Berringer) Pennington.
His mother survives and resides in Rossiter.
He was a 1970 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
He graduated at the top of his class from Westmoreland Business College.
On Oct. 30, 2011, he married Margaret DeRobertis. She survives.
Larry was a foster care provider.
He was an avid hunter and president of the Backdoor Outlaw Archery Club.
