John S. “Diz” Hallman, 86

John S. Hallman, 86, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at home.

He was born June 28, 1926, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late George K. and Isabelle V. (Connelly) Hallman.

On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Nancy A. (Bennett) Hallman, who survives.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Punxsutawney where he was a layman, a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Southwest Pacific Operation with submarine forces on the submarine USS Jack.

William K. Lindenpitz, 67

William K. Lindenpitz, 67, Reynoldsville, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at home.

He was born June 28, 1945, in DuBois, a son of the late Clifford J. Lindenpitz and Madeline Kirkwood.

Aug. 14, 1965, he married Betty L. Siple, who survives.

Mr. Lindenpitz was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a Worshipful Master of the John M. Read Lodge No. 536 F&AM of Reynoldsville, and a Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star of the Reynoldsville Chapter 220.

He was a retired diesel mechanic, after working for Penn Traffic for 20 years.
