Georjean Brady, 71, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1941, in Stump Creek, a daughter of the late Fred “Barney” and Mary (Magolis) Quashnock.
On May 26, 1962, she married William C. Brady. He survives.
She was a loving wife and mother.
She enjoyed fishing with her husband, painting, arts and crafts, crocheting and her friends at the Senior Center.
Georjean was named the Jefferson County Senior Corps-RSVP top volunteer for February in 2012, by Community Action, Inc.
Christopher Brandner, 28, of Glen Campbell, Pa., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in Glen Campbell.
He was born May 29, 1984, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., a son of Jerold W. and Eileen Joy (Williamson) Brandner.
He was a welder by trade.
He is survived by his father, Jerold W. Brandner, Jr.; two sisters, Catherine Byers of Mahaffey, Pa., and Rachel Morgan of Wylie, Texas; two nieces, Ava Mattis and Audrey Byers, both of Mahaffey, Pa.; his grandparents, Stanley and Rose Smith of Glen Campbell, Pa.; and by one aunt, Althea Galiowski, of North Tonawanda, N.Y.
Joyce Hughes, 80, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital in Punxsutawney.
She was born May 24, 1932, in Harpursville, N.Y., a daughter of Reuel and Georgia (Starbird) Smith.
She was married August 28, 1954, in Harpursville, N.Y., to John H. Hughes, who survives.
She attended Cornell University.
She was a homemaker.
She was a strong believer in education and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney and was very active in various committees.
Dora E. Palmer, 88, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Domb) Wolfgang.
She was married to Ward J. Palmer, who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2007.
She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She was a former employee of Ruth and Harry’s Restaurant.
She enjoyed quilting and other crafts.
