January 13th
Eva J. Anderson, 91, Anita, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Anita, a daughter of the late Carl Albert and Anna J. Anderson.
She was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church in Anita.
She graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School and was first employed at G.C. Murphy and then at Punxsutawney Hardware for most of her adult life.
H. Ray Pifer, 90, of Reynoldsville, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Pifer was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Big Run, a son of the late Irvin G. Pifer and Uzella (Rhoades) Pifer.
He was married in May of 1945 to his wife, Olive I. (Timblin) Pifer, who survives, of Reynoldsville.
They were married 67 years.
Mr. Pifer was a lifelong resident of the area and the family's 8th generation homestead farm.
He was an entrepreneur and inventor.
He was the owner of Pifer's Poultry & Egg Business, processing 100,000 birds per year.
January 11th
Joyce C. (Judy) Reiter, 74, Reynoldsville, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at home.
She was born Jan. 25, 1938, in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late Clair Mulhollan and Dorothy Hughes Mulhollan.
Sept. 14, 1957, she married Phillip Merle Reiter, who survives, of Reynoldsville.
Mrs. Reiter was a 1955 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. She retired as the First United Methodist Church secretary after 38 years of service.
Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville.
H. Ray Pifer, 90, Reynoldsville, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at home.

Randall M. “Randy” Wolfe, 64, Knox Dale, died Thursday, Jan. 10. 2013, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born April 22, 1948, in Knox Dale, a son of the late Milton "Brownie" Wolfe and Emma Ishman Wolfe.
June 7, 1969, in Knox Dale, he married Mary Ruth Reinard, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War as a sergeant in Co.B, 1st Bn., 2nd Mar. Div. from 1967 to 1970.
He received the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm and frame, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal with device and the Combat Action Ribbon.
Betty J. Hill, 89, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Shawville, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at DuBois Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hill was born May 19, 1923, in Woodland, Pa., a daughter of the late Harold Stephens and Fannie (Maines) Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Hill Sr.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the First Church of God in Punxsutawney.
She loved and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all children.
She was very instrumental in Kid's Camp in Dillsburg and was a youth leader most of her life.
January 10th
Rosemary (Yenzi) Bettino, 83, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at home.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1929, in Anita, Pa., a daughter of the late Angeline (Villella) and John Yenzi.
On May 28, 1955, the former Rosemary Yenzi married Dominick “Mickey” Bettino at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Mrs. Bettino received her bachelor’s in nursing from Niagara University and was a graduate of the nurse practitioner program at the University of Buffalo.
Willovene “Nean” F. Mills, 91, of Punxsutawney, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan, 10, 2013, at her home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Troutville, Pa., a daughter of the late Herman and Vera (Ellinger) Shepler.
March 10, 1941, she married William P. Mills, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1985.
Mrs. Mills was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife.
She was a past member of Homemakers’ Club and Ladies Aide, and a current member of the St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run.
John T. Richards, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2013, after a short illness.
He was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late John and Ruth Richards.
He was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service.
He later retired after 20 years of civil service.
Mr. Richards performed avionics maintenance on numerous aircraft, including his favorite, the B-52 Stratofortress.
He received the Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters,
January 9th
Donna Jean Martin, 65, of Falls Creek, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born on March 4, 1947, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Rass & C. Ruth (Jackson) Denton.
On Nov. 11, 1965, she married James H. Martin, Jr. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2012.
Donna Jean enjoyed making crafts to show at local fairs. Â She loved to shop and spend time with her dog, Shawnee.
