Infant Ruthann Lynn Kerr, of Smicksburg, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 2012, the daughter of Cheryl Lynn Shank and Thomas George Kerr.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Lacy Marie Kerr; her maternal grandfather, Merle Shank, Jr.; her godmother, Chelsea Eileen Hartzfeld; several aunts and uncles; and friend Cheryl Bottenhorn, who was at her motherâ€™s bedside.
Ruthann was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Ruth Shank and paternal grandparents, Betty Lou and George Thomas Kerr.
Anna Marie Gould, 86, of Mahaffey, returned to her savior Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Gould was born March 8, 1926, in Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Cecil C. Wolfe and Lillian (McClinsey) Wolfe.
On Oct. 21, 1950, she married Harry B. Gould, who precedes her in death.
Anna was an active member of the Mt. Carmel Church and the Ladies Aid of Clover Run, holding numerous offices over the years.
Harry "Ed" Dunkle, 82, of Brookville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.
The son of Edwin McCullough Dunkle and Priscilla Dorothy Boyd Dunkle, Ed was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Sligo, Pa.
On July 23, 1954, in Brookville, he married Mabel D. "Sis" Carrier, who survives.
Ed served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Ed served three terms as the Jefferson County Sheriff and was also a past warden of the Jefferson County Jail in Brookville.
Anna â€śRitaâ€ť (Porada) Clark, 71, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Michael M. and Ann (Knopick) Porada.
On May 20, 1967, she married William Francis Clark, who survives.
Mrs. Clark was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.
She was everyoneâ€™s â€śAunt Ritaâ€ť â€” a very friendly, loving and nurturing woman who took care of everyone. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
Katherine D. Fleming, 92, Connecticut, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Norwalk, Conn.
She was born July 18, 1920, a daughter of the late Carl D. and Florence (Miller) Dock.
On Oct. 11, 1942, she married Harry C. Fleming, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 13, 1990.
She was an avid golfer and held many positions at the Longshore Womenâ€™s Golf Association in Westport, Conn., and enjoyed paddle tennis and Broadway.
Arman F. Bonante, 88, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born on Dec. 28, 1923, in Troutville, Pa., he was the son of the late Andrew and Pompa (Rubino) Bonante.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.
On June 24, 1944, he married Bessie M. (Frantz) Bonante. She survives.
For 53 years, he was the owner and operator of Bonanteâ€™s Garage in Sykesville.
He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville for many years.
Emory Elkin, 86, of Smicksburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Forbes Regional Hospital.
He was born on March 11, 1926, in Loop, Pa., the son of Duff and Nellie (Marshall) Elkin.
Emory graduated from Dayton High School and was a member of Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church.
He worked at Dow Chemical Company as a supervisor for 20 years and then at Little Mahoning Pipeline as a supervisor for 20 years before his retirement in 1991.
Richard E. Heffner, 76, of DuBois, passed away, Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Heffner was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Washington Township, a son of the late Benjamin F. Heffner and Ruby Mae (Hartzfeld) Heffner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth A. Brady.
Mr. Heffner loved fishing with his great-grandchildren, hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
John F. Fortsch, 69, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Fortsch was born Nov. 8, 1943, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Clarence J. Fortsch and Sara (Benson) Fortsch.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas Fortsch and wife Gladys of Tennessee and Conrad Fortsch and wife Bonnie of Punxsutawney; his step-sisters, Karen McCauley of Punxsutawney, Barbara Black and husband Stanley of Punxsutawney and Patricia Manucha and husband Edward of New York; long-time companion Ken J. Stubbs of DuBois; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy Mae Nicholson, 75, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Nicholson was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Eugene and Faye (Young ) Jordan.
On March 27, 1956, she married her husband, Harold M. Nicholson, who survives, of Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Nicholson attended the First Church of God.
She enjoyed collecting angels, vacationing in Myrtle Beach for the winter, going to church camp and spending time with her grandchildren.
