Joseph L. "Bud" Hottel, 80

Joseph L. "Bud" Hottel, 80, of Warren, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Warren Manor in Warren.

He was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Brookville, a son of the late Lowell O. Hottel and Helen G. (Snyder) Hottel-Brown.

He was a licensed practical nurse at Warren State Hospital.

Mr. Hottel was raised by his grandparents, James and Elva Snyder.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Joyce Thomas of Punxsutawney; and a brother, Donald E. Hottel of Westerville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hottel and Eugene Hottel; and a sister, Judith E. Hottel.

Meredith Means, 85

Meredith Means, 85, of Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at her home.

She was born April 13, 1927, in Frostburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Clyde and Minnie (Newbold) Means.

She completed her medical training in histology in Boston, Mass., and was employed as a medical technician with various practices in Maryland, Washington, D.C., California, Texas and Florida during her working career.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Ruth Bixler of Vail, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
