Melvin James Neal, 77

Melvin James Neal, 77, Erie, formerly of Rossiter, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home.

He was born June 27, 1935, in Rossiter, a son of the late Carl and Helen Neal.

He was married to his wife of 42 years, Henrietta “Hedy” Neal, who survives.

Mr. Neal was a member of the New Apostolic Church and was employed with Benjamin Coal Co., and then self-employed in excavating prior to retirement.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War, and was past president and life member of the American Legion in Rossiter.

John T. Williams, 93

John T. Williams, 93, formerly of Corry, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Compassionate Home Care.

He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Orrin and May (Glass) Williams.

July 3, 1939, in Winchester, Va., he married Marian A. Crawford Williams, who survives.

Mr. Williams was raised and educated in Punxsutawney and graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1936.

He moved to Corry in 1941. He worked for Aero Supply and later worked in the finishing department at Associated Springs-Barnes Group for 34-and-a-half years until his retirement in 1981.
