Ruby Beatrice Caldwell, 98, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Live Well Estate in Hillsdale.

She was born Sept. 13, 1913, in McCalmont Township, a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Lydick) Smith.

Oct. 2, 1942, in Takoma Park, Md., she married John Paul Caldwell, who preceded her in death April 12, 2006.

Mrs. Caldwell worked for many years at Murphy’s in Punxsutawney. She was a member of the First Church of God in Punxsutawney.

For many years, she sang with the Sweet Adelines and also bowled. She loved to cook, bake and sew.

John Phillips, 75, Covode, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 16, 1936, in Allport, the only child of the late John and Jane (Pribilsky) Phillips.

May 6, 1967, he married Patricia (Venesky) Phillips, of Carrolltown, who survives.

Mr. Phillips was a 1954 graduate of Barnesboro High School and worked in Buffalo, N.Y., before being drafted into the U.S. Army.
