Esther E. Gray, 87, DuBois, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Paradise, a daughter of the late John and Iva (Green) Reed.
During World War II, she was an airplane riveter in Buffalo, N.Y.
Jan. 12, 1946, she married William Gray, who preceded her in death in 1998.
During her marriage, Mrs. Gray worked at Brockway Glass, BF Goodrich, Jefferson Electronics, Sears and Riverside.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 30 years, as well as the P.T.A. and Meals on Wheels.
Alan R. Rowland, 57, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 15, 1955, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Dalvin R. and B. Jane (Shirley) Rowland.
He was married to Denise (Budihas) Rowland, who survives.
Mr. Rowland was a graduate of Williamsport Community College and was a machinist and welder by trade.
He was an avid outdoorsman and a talented gunsmith.
He was a member of the Punxsutawney Alliance Church.
In 1975, Mr. Rowland was a recipient of the Carnegie Hero Award.
Janice Marlene Wagner, 54, Stroudsburg, and formerly of Smicksburg, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Easton after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 13, 1957, in Kittanning, a daughter of Vernon K. and Betty Jean (Barrett) Lightner.
May 15, 1998, she married Jeff Wagner of Stroudsburg, who survives.
Mrs. Wagner graduated from Dayton High School, Dayton, and Lenape Vocational Technical School in Ford City.
