Donald P. Ryman, 81

Donald P. Ryman, 81, Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at the Aurora Manor in Aurora, Ohio, and has rejoined his beloved wife, Patricia, in heaven for eternity. 

He was born May 17, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y., and was adopted by the late Mahlon and Katherine (Floetke) Ryman of Big Run.

March 8, 1952, in Winchester, Va., Mr. Ryman married his sweetheart, Patricia Strachan, and they resided in Big Run for a brief time. She preceded him in death in 1988.

Glenn E. “Buzz” Powell, 82

Glenn E. “Buzz” Powell, 82, Brookville, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at the McKinley Health Center, Brookville.

He was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Ringgold, a son of the late William G. and Arveta M. (Snyder) Powell.

March 9, 1952, he married Charlotte M. (Smith), who preceded him in death Feb. 22, 2001.

Mr. Powell served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He was the owner and operator of Powell’s Garage & Rebuilds in Roseville and enjoyed sprint car racing.

Charlotte S. Himes, 94

Charlotte S. Himes, 94, Coolspring, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at her home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1917, in Worthville, a daughter of the late Quay and Eliza (Straitiff) Doverspike.

Ms. Himes was a school teacher for 43 years at Punxsutawney Middle School, where she taught reading and English.

She was a member of the Coolspring United Methodist Church.

Ms. Himes loved and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, Connie and Leslie, her boys, Tanner and Brodi, and her beloved cats.
