John W. Jenks, 91, Leechburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at West Haven Manor.
He was born July 18, 1920, in Yatesboro, a son of Eugene H. and Sara (Evans) Jenks.
In 1937, at the age of 16, Mr. Jenks graduated from Punxsutawney High School as his classâ€™ valedictorian and, four years later, graduated as valedictorian of his class at Penn State University, where he also earned the rare honor of being an industrial engineer inductee into Phi Beta Kappa.
Ardovino "Ardy" Racchini, 98, Brookville, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
He was born Jan. 17, 1914, in Conifer, a son of the late Joseph and Madelina (Beducci) Racchini.
July 9, 1950, in Clarion, he married Cecilia Jacqueline (Jackie) Moore, who preceded him in death March 11, 2001.
Mr. Racchini was employed as a barber, a clock maker and repairman, and he also worked on lawn mowers and small engines. He also delivered coal and worked as a coal miner.
Eleanor M. Rayle, 91, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
She was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Corning, N.Y., a daughter of the late Arlan and Margaret (Perry) Cole.
Aug. 14, 1937, she married Encil â€śGeneâ€ť Rayle, who preceded her in death April 26, 1998.
She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Rayle was a member of the Punxsutawney Country Club and the B.P.O. Elks No. 301 of Punxsutawney.
Surviving relatives include a son, Dale Rayle; a daughter, Linda Theakston; and three grandchildren.
