Lauretta Shoffner Shekitka, 85, of Bozeman, MT, passed away on
Dec. 19, 2012, in her apartment at Springmeadows.
Lauretta was born on Dec. 7, 1927, at the family home in Dora, Pa., to Charles and Mildred Shoffner.
She attended high school in Kittanning, Pa., and graduated in 1945.
While attending Syracuse University, she met and married the love of her life Andy Shekitka — a dashing Navy veteran and center on the SU football team.
Lauretta and Andy owned and directed All Seasons Camp in Mt. Tremper, N.Y., from 1960 to 1971.
Thomas Shiock Sr., 75, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late John Shiock and Mary Jane (Kukula) Shiock.
In 1957, he married Suzanne (Bish) Shiock of Punxsutawney, who survives.
He began working construction in 1968, working many years for Local No. 910 Construction General Laborers.
He also worked for Jefferson Garage, drilled rigs for P&N Coal and ran the Starlight Drive-In.
Laird B. Braughler, 89, of Monroeville, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille (Brennan) Braughler; father of Beverly (Jim) Spare and Robert (Julie) Braughler; grandfather of Adam and Kate Braughler; brother of Lorraine Sterner, Dolan and Duane Braughler, and the late Maralene Emerick, Bernadine Sensabaugh and Ronald Braughler.
Laird was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and had been employed by GMAC, where he was a dealer relations manager.
He also drove cars for Day Chevrolet.
