Carl E. Benson, Sr., 78, of Punxsutawney, passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, and into God’s eternal glory while surrounded by family who were lifting him up in prayer.
Born April 13, 1934, Carl was the son of Oscar C. and Henrietta M. (Harrold) Benson.
He was also a son of God, through his acceptance of his Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation. He lived a life that was defined by his love for these two families: earthly and spiritual.
Ruth I. Greenawalt, 90, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at AM/PM Personal Care Home.
She was born July 26, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late James and Sarah Jane “Jennie” (Sheesley) McClincy.
On Feb. 9, 1946, she married the late Clarence A. Greenawalt, who preceded her in death on July 26, 1985.
She worked in the office at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 24 years.
She was a member of the Punxsutawney Baptist Church and a member of the Historical Society for 18 years.
