Hazel J. Hinderliter, 99, formerly of Frostburg, died Sunday Jan. 8, 2012, in Towson, Md., where she lived with her daughter Nedra for three years.
She was born Aug. 28, 1912, a daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Anthony) Palmer.
Dec. 3, 1931, she married Kermit J. Hinderliter, who preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1994.
She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Bertha A. (Kauffman) Hoffman, 84, Erie, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Pleasant Ridge Manor East.
She was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Lee) Kauffman.
She was married to James W. Hoffman, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hoffman was an 11-year resident of Erie and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She lived in Punxsutawney for more than 30 years.
Robert Edward Anderson Sr., 79, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, in Melbourne, Fla.
He was born April 17, 1932, in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Bessie (Matthews) Anderson.
He was married to Mary Johnston Anderson, who survives.
Mr. Anderson was employed as a teacher for the Punxsutawney Area School District.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the Westmoreland Lodge No. 518 and Accepted Masons.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.
Clyde K. Mohney, 89, Punxsutawney, died Sunday Jan. 8, 2012, at Dubois Regional Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 20, 1922, a son of the late John C. and Fannie M. (Smith) Mohney.
He was a dairy farmer all his life.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Mohney enjoyed life; he was an avid reader and an avid hunter.
He enjoyed all of the flowers that surrounded his home, and he also enjoyed watching the birds at his bird feeder.
