Thelma L. Williams, 84, Punxsutawney, (Albion area) passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.
She was born March 23, 1926, in Canoe Ridge, the daughter of the late Harry Henry and Alta (Stiver) Henry, who preceded her in death.
Feb. 7, 1946, she married Dallas M. Williams, who preceded her in death Feb. 4, 2000.
Mrs. Williams was a life-long resident of the Punxsutawney area; she attended the Canoe Ridge Church of God; and she was a former employee of Sportswear and Rola-Jensen in Punxsutawney.
Anna Mary Territo, 83, Anita, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mrs. Territo was born Sept. 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Dominic) Gileot.
She was married to Paul J. Territo, who preceded her in death July 31, 2001.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Anita; the Catholic Daughters of America; St. Joseph Rosary Society; Princess Marie Lodge; and the McCalmont Township Fire Company Auxiliary.
Ronald D. Ishman, 79, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
He was a veteran of the U.S.Â Air Force, a member of the Masonic Lodge 1157, Eggerstville, and the Moose Lodge, North Tonawanda.
Mr. Ishman had been an active member of the Gastown Sportsman Club; was the former owner and operator of the Abbot Fence Co.; and had worked as a salesman for the Imperial Fence Co.
Charles M. âChuckâ Hommey, 65, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Brookville Hospital. After suffering a stroke in August 2009, he was residing at Jefferson Manor Nursing Home in Brookville.
He was born May 7, 1945, in North Charleroi, a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Martin) Hommey.
Mr. Hommey was a 1963 graduate of Rostraver High School in Belle Vernon and earned a B.S. degree in animal science from West Virginia University in 1968.
Carol L. Motter, 68, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Marienville, a daughter of the late William and Goldie E. (Irwin) Covel.
Â Ms. Motter loved reading, watching âJeopardy!â and cooking.
Catherine Margaret Carlson, 92, Anita, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
She was born Aug. 6, 1918, in DeLancey, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Hinderliter) Carlson.
Dec. 9, 1933, she married Gilbert E. Carlson, who preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1985.
Mrs. Carlson was a member of the Anita Assembly of God Church, where she served as secretary for many years. She also served as a judge of elections in McCalmont Township for many years.
She was a devoted, loving and caring mother and grandmother.
John M. Hollenbaugh, 89, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his daughterâs home in Creedmoor, Texas.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Panic, a son of the late Eli and Mabel (Hayes) Hollenbaugh.
He was married to Grace E. Dinger, who preceded him in death June 18, 2008.
Mr. Hollenbaugh was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed as a general contractor and enjoyed woodworking.
Donald E. Lento, 74, Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, after a long battle with ALS at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 3, 1936, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Francis and Florence (Kingsley) Lento.
Oct. 26, 1977, he married Judith A. (Mock) Lento of Punxsutawney, who survives.
Mr. Lento was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Punxsutawney area and Oregon, Ohio.
Beverly G. Mazik, 73, Brookville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1937, in Wilkins Township, a daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Geyer.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Mazik, who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 10, 2010.
Caroline Means, 95, Punxsutawney, formerly of Valier, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
She was born June 10, 1915, in Punxsutawney, the oldest of five children of the late Clark and Mirtie Stoke Smith.
April 28, 1937, she married Forrest M. Means, who preceded her in death July 9, 1999. They had been married 62 years.
Mrs. Means worked as an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church and served in many capacities over the years.
