Gertrude McCauley, 79, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 11, 1931, in Vienna, Austria, a daughter of the late Karl and Theresia Geborene (Schreiner) Unmuth.
She had recollections of very hard times in Germany, which included bread rations and being made to salute Hitler in her early years of life.
July 14, 1956, she married her beloved Albert Merle McCauley Jr., who preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2002.
Ruby E. Powell, 68, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1942, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Martin Vasbinder and Edna (Minich) Vasbinder-Burkett.
July 30, 1960, she married Clair J. Powell, Sr., of Punxsutawney, who survives.
