Dorothy I. Cherry, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, May 21, 2011.

She was born in 1925 to the late Harry E. and Edna Z. (Wills) Duey in Tyrone.

She was married to Andrew Dale Cherry, who preceded her in death June 26, 1999.

Mrs. Cherry was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer. She was a member of the Senior Saints at her place of worship. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her family, being a grandmother, helping her friends and personal Bible Study Class at Crystal Waters Nursing Home.

Mildred T. (Pennington) Poeta, 87, Punxsutawney, formerly of Rossiter, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family.

She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Daniel and Nancy (Tozar) Pennington. She grew up in McGees Mills.
Dec. 31, 1943, she married Frank Poeta, who preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1979. The couple owned Poeta Trucking of Rossiter for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Poeta was a homemaker and the last surviving sibling of her two brothers and five sisters.
