Robert E. Bennett, 86, Rossiter, died, Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at home.
He was born March 30, 1925, in Clymer, the son of the late Perry and Margaret (Shields) Bennett.
Jan. 12, 1946, he married Avanell Humble, who survives.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the former Rossiter Presbyterian Church. He served as a church elder, Sunday School teacher and former church treasurer.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the American Legion of Rossiter and the Carpenters Union Local No. 2274 of Pittsburgh.
A memorial service for Margaret Couser, 99, who was born Jan. 18, 1912, and died Jan. 26, 2011, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Union Hill Church.
Drive through Rossiter and turn right up Union Hill. The church is at the top on the right.
Pastor George (Butch) White will preside.
All friends are welcome.
After the service, friends and relatives may gather at the home of grandson Brendan Couser, 223 Pine St.
